Recently several players have reported a new bug in Overwatch 2, which allows players to change teams in the middle of games, and no one knows what happens. There is no doubt that, like every online multiplayer game, the game has some bugs, but they are not usually as serious as this one.

This bug can be annoying when you want to play a game with some friends because they will not be on the same team from one moment to another. Furthermore, carrying several kills and being changed team unexpectedly is very frustrating for any player. This means that the above has not served any purpose, and undoubtedly, the game’s sense is lost because you do not know which team you will be in anyway.

Bug ruins some players’ games

This bug was discovered by a player who switched teams in the middle of a game. This player played with Ana and put a lot of effort into the games with his teammates. However, the match in Lijiang Tower was uneven due to the excellent level shown by some players, and suddenly players switched from one team to another.

Upon learning of this mistake, an Overwatch 2 player said:

“I know some people would do anything to win the game, but isn’t this going a bit far?”

Because of this bug, Overwatch 2 games will likely start from scratch, sometimes even on a completely different map.

The player who reported the bug on Reddit last January 19 said:

“I once had a complete game restart on the Circuit Royal map, and we were near the end. The game suddenly ends, and everyone switches to Rialto.”

While Rialto may be a fun map for some, most Overwatch players prefer to end the game they were playing.

This is not the first time there has been such a bug

This bug has just been discovered, but others are still in the game that undoubtedly screws up the game. Other players also reported switching sides in the middle of a game in November.

“All players were switched to the other team in the middle of a QP game on Route 66.”

In the historic clip, one unfortunate tank player lost his game because he was pushed to the other team at the end of the lobby.

From then on, no more glitches like this were reported for a while, so we all assumed that the problem was fixed. However, this is entirely false, as these bugs continue to exist in games.

Furthermore, other players also claimed that this bug has been coming into the game since Overwatch 1, so Blizzard is aware of what is happening. So we hope this bug will be fixed soon and we can enjoy the games again without fear of being passed to the other team.
