At the end of January, the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Winter Regional Opens will take place in all seven world regions.

The 2022-23 season features a “refinement” to the existing format. It will be divided into fall, winter and spring split, each containing one open, one cup, and one invitational tournament.

Knowing this is the perfect time to look at the overall standings for the RLCS 22-23.

Gen.G Mobil1 Racing – World No. 1

All Gen.G Mobil1 Racing fans should be happy to know that the North American champion is in first place in the overall standings. The team is off to an impeccable start in its first year in the professional Rocket League scene.

The Gen.G roster comprises European, Canadian, and North American players. To see all these regions united in a single group is quite a rarity.

Top regions in the RLCS world rankings 22-23

We commonly see European and North American teams dominating the overall standings. This means these regions will send three teams to the Winter Major, while the rest will only send two teams.

However, despite the style of qualification, it is essential to give special mention to the two regions for their achievements

South America

The Club, a team composed only of Brazilian players, has achieved incredible success in less than a year since its creation. This is a growing team that is getting stronger every day. Their consistent first-place finishes in regional tournaments have led them to second place in the overall standings.

Although their last performance in the Fall Split Major did not go very well, as they finished between 12th and 14th place, we should keep an eye on the RLCS 22-23 tournament to see if they improved their performance.

Asia-Pacific

On the other hand, we have James Cheese, a brand-new team that has achieved third place in the RLCS 22-23 world rankings. Like the Brazilians of The Club, this team dominated their regional tournaments.

In the Fall Split Major, James Cheese did not get what they expected, achieving 15th and 16th place finishes.
