Evil Geniuses has confirmed the project ‘Blueprint’, as a part of which the org is putting together a 15-player CS:GO roster. Today, the North American organization announced the signing of Party Astronauts and Carpe Diem rosters, who will join EG’s main squad.

Based on Evil Geniuses’ statements for HLTV and Dotesports, the new Evil Geniuses roster won’t be a traditional academy system with three different squads, but rather a “fluid” 15-man line-up. Coaches from Party Astronauts and Carpe Diem will also reportedly join the Evil Geniuses coaching team.

Reviving NA CS:GO

The move by Evil Geniuses aims to revive the North American CS:GO scene, which has been declining for a few years now. Furthermore, the Seattle-based organization will this way be able to field rosters in competitions on multiple levels at the same time, ranging from small regional events to large tournaments and Majors.

The move follows the signing of three North American players at the beginning of 2022, namely William “RUSH” Wierzba, Jake “Stewie2K” Yip and Timothy “autimatic” Ta, who were a part of the Cloud9’s victorious squad from the 2018 Major in Boston.

Having acquired two promising NA rosters, the new 15-player Evil Geniuses squad features a purely North American line-up except for one player — Bulgarian Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov, who’s been, along with American Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte, with the team since September 2019.

Here’s the new Evil Geniuses CS:GO line-up:

  • Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov
  • Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte
  • Timothy “autimatic” Ta
  • Jake “Stewie2K” Yip
  • William “RUSH” Wierzba
  • Josh “PwnAlone” Pigue
  • Ben “ben1337” Smith
  • Jonathan “Jonji” Carey
  • Jonathan “djay” Dallal
  • Wesley “viz” Harris
  • Jerric “wiz” Jiang
  • Colby “Walco” Walsh
  • Connor “chop” Sullivan
  • Jadan “HexT” Postma
  • Anthony “CLASIA” Kearney

Carpe Diem

Formerly known as RBG, the Carpe Diem roster consists of wiz, Walco, chop, HexT and CLASIA. The team showed great potential during the recent, 40th season of the ESL Challenger League, where they finished second after losing the Grand Final to MIBR. Since then, they kept their momentum and reached the closed qualifier for the currently ongoing IEM Dallas

Party Astronauts

Consisting of PwnAlone, ben1337, Jonji, djay and viz, the free agent Party Astronauts have also been exhibiting promising performances, most notably at the American RMR for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022. Despite having a decent shot at advancing to the Major, it was Evil Geniuses who eliminated them in the Swiss stage of the event.

While Evil Geniuses’ new lineup is the first CS:GO roster to feature 15 players, it remains to be seen how this will work in practice, and if other organizations will seek to pursue a similar concept.
