The Thunderpick World Champions 2023 is history, and we enjoyed an excellent battle that left FaZe Clan as the tournament champion.

Undoubtedly, all players did their bit to lead the team to victory. Moreover, this becomes the second tournament that FaZe won in this early CS2 era, so everything indicates that the team is at its best, as in 2022, when they swept the CS:GO scene.

However, in this Thunderpick World Champions, we have to highlight the performance of Robin “ropz” Kool. The Estonian showed his excellent level of play in this tournament to lead the FaZe Clan to victory and take the MVP award.

Ropz is Thunderpick World Champions MVP

Thanks to his excellent performances and statistics, ropz won the MVP award at the Thunderpick World Champions 2023.

This trophy becomes the fourth MVP that ropz has won in his professional career. However, it is the first one he has won in a tournament not organized by the ESL.

It is also fair to mention that ropz maintained an impressive rating throughout the tournament (1.31), which he ratified in the Grand Final (1.43) against Virtus.pro, where he led FaZe to a 2-0 victory.

As we know, ropz is one of the most active players in the game, meaning he has always been involved in CS2 since his Limited Test. As a result, it may not be a complete surprise that the Estonian is playing at this level right now.

And that’s because all of ropz’s stats were mind-blowing and, above all, higher than what he achieved throughout his successful CS:GO career. The percentage of Entry Frags increased, which leaves us that the Estonian is a much more aggressive player in CS2. However, there is also the fact that ropz has greatly improved his CT Side, where he has commanded FaZe’s defense in the two tournaments they have won recently.

Ropz saves FaZe in the second map of the Grand Final

And the impact of ropz in the Grand Final was more important than ever since, at one point in the second map (Vertigo), VP was ahead on the scoreboard 8-1. However, ropz woke up and contributed 35 frags to lead FaZe to a 19-17 victory.

Similarly, it is also fair to mention that Helvijs “broky” Saukants is also in great form and, above all, is playing very well in important games. However, ropz’s stats outperform Broky’s, especially in ADR (84.4), K/D (+62), Clutch (8), and KAST (79.5%).
