Cambodian team See You Soon is finally back on top of Cambodia’s premier MLBB esports league after defeating D-Roar Legends, 4-2, in a thrilling best-of-seven (Bo7) series grand finals of MPL Cambodia Season 6, held in the nation’s capital of Phnom Penh.

After D-Roar took the opening and third games, SYS was able to win from Round 4 and ended the match by Game 6, thanks to its Filipino import, Kent “Souuul” Basa, who was also named finals MVP.

Aside from Souul, who acts as the team’s gold laner, See You Soon is composed of Leng “Felix” Kimhak (EXP laner), Kheang “Ririth” Sovandarith (EXP laner), Michael “MPTheKing” Endino (Jungler), Sovann “Raa” Chanmakara (Mid laner) and Sok “BOXI” Viera. The team is headed by its head coach Chhim “CatGod” Vitou and assistant coach Seang “Jin” Phyvisal.

Souuul was formerly from RSG Philippines, while MPTheKing also played for Nexplay EVOS and Smart Omega NEOS.

“I feel so excited to go to Riyadh to compete in MSC 2024. When I started coaching the team, we became champions. And now, this season, we just became back-to-back champions. I hope that we can even be better at MSC,” says Coach CatGod.

Meanwhile, fans and onlookers enjoyed various activities and took home limited-edition merchandise items and treats such as ABA Bank Legend Cards, Legend Cinema’s free popcorn and vouchers, Sting’s newest ‘Sting Blue’ energy drink, and MPL KH in-game diamonds and shirts.

Multiple watch parties were held at Heritage Walk Mall in Siam Reap, Price Mall in Preah Sihanouk, and KMall and The Olympia Mall in Phnom Penh to gather Cambodian fans from different spots.

This season, popular energy drink Sting remains the presenting sponsor of MPL Cambodia. The country’s premier financial institution ABA Bank joins Tecno, Smart, and Legend Cinema as the official tournament sponsors.

SYS took home the lion’s share of the US$40,000 prize pool and will officially represent Cambodia in the 2024 Mid-Season Cup, the biggest MLBB esports event in history.
