MOUZ thrashed  NIP 2-1 in the lower bracket, ending their journey in IEM Cologne 2022. After dropping the first map, MOUZ rallied and destroyed NIP in Inferno and Mirage to give their lower bracket run a perfect closure.

MOUZ wins three straight games in the lower bracket to advance to the IEM Cologne 2022 playoffs. The German squad eliminated fan favorites Heroic and Vitality in the first two rounds and clinched a playoff spot, demolishing NIP in the third.

MOUZ vs NIP – Highlights

While NIP selected Vertigo to begin the best of three series, the map favored MOUZ at the early stage. MOUZ appeared more confident and coordinated in the initial rounds, establishing a quick 4:0 lead. NIP quickly shifted to an offensive approach, taking four consecutive rounds to equalize the series 4:4.

NIP’s star performer, Ludvig ‘Brollan’ Brolin, put on an excellent showing, ripping apart the opposition’s defenses round after round to build a respectable 9-6 lead at the half. The team continued to push MOUZ to the back lines in the second half and completely seized control of Vertigo, closing the game with a 16:13 score.

NIP continued their hot streak in Inferno, disappointing the German squad for seven consecutive rounds. MOUZ, on the other hand, immediately responded and secured six rounds, cutting the lead of NIP to 9:6 before the second half. Ádám “Torzsi’s” Torzsás showcased a brilliant performance in the second half, giving  MOUZ the opportunity to tie the series by taking four more rounds. Before NIP could make a comeback attempt, torzi and the squad landed the final blow and secured six straight rounds to close the map with a victory.

It wasn’t over yet for MOUZ, as the last map of the best-of-three series was their main highlight. In the crucial final map, Mirage, NIP got out to a hot start, but they couldn’t keep that up for much longer. By scoring 12 rounds consecutively with four players scoring double-digit kills, MOUZ completely changed the course of the game. NIP’s hope were shattered as MOUZ went on and secured four more rounds to close the map and the series with a brilliant victory.

After having a rough CS: GO season, MOUZ are finally looking back on track. Despite facing an early defeat against Natus Vincere in the first round, the team performed brilliantly throughout the group stage. On July 15, the team will play the losing team from the FaZe vs. Astralis matchup in the first quarterfinals.
