European giants MAD Lions has made significant changes to its League of Legends roster during the offseason, despite the team having made it consecutive LEC titles earlier this year. The org announced the arrival of two new players on Tuesday, both of whom join from the ERL’s.

Ex-BIG Clan mid laner “Reeker” joins the team, alongside former SK Gaming Prime youngster “Unforgiven”. The latter will fill the AD carry void, with the likes of top laner “Armut” jungler “Elyoya” and support “Kaiser” expected to stick around ahead of the new season.

Why MAD Lions Had Brought In Reeker & Unforgiven

It appears likely that current starting mid laner “Humanoid” will leave, having been heavily inked with a switch to Fnatic, who are looking for new additions ahead of the 2022 LEC Spring Split. Reeker looks set to take his place, while Unforgiven will step up in place of “Carzzy”, who was regarded as one of the leading marksmen in the region.

It remains to be seen as to whether the duo have what it takes to fill their shows. However, both Reeker and Unforgiven have developed a reputation for their hard work and competitiveness, traits that will serve them well at MAD Lions. Carzzy and Humanoid were key in MAD Lions’ rise to the top of the LEC, with both having come up clutch at key moments.

Can MAD Lions Make It Three Straight LEC Titles?

Both players are considered to be among the top players in their position, with their performances having helped MAD Lions reach the knockout stages at the 2021 Worlds. While they were eventually eliminated by DWG Kia, the team showed that it is more than ready to compete at the highest level.

Carzzy is set to sign a three-year deal at Team Vitality, where he could well team up with stars including “Alphari” and “Perkz, as the org looks to create a super roster before the start of the new season. Meanwhile, Humanoid could become a key part of Fnatic’s lineup, following the exits of “Bwipo” and “Nisqy”.

Having signed for MAD Lions, Reeker and Unforgiven will be counting down the days until they make their long awaited LEC debuts. However, fans may be rightly cautious going into the new season, with the inexperienced pair undoubtedly needing time to settle into their new surroundings. They will of course be helped by a hugely talented core group of players around them, which could well see them challenge for the title once again.
