As the final weeks of the 2022 LCK Spring Split draw to a close, KT Rolster has moved one step closer to the playoffs after their 2-1 victory over Nongshim RedForce.

KT’s spring split season has been a roller coaster ride with ups and downs. After a decent start in the league, the team went on a losing streak and received 6 consecutive defeats. Their standing dropped from 5th place to eighth place with a 4-10 record after the consistently poor performance by the team.

The team was losing hopes for the playoffs, but the sudden shift in their performance changed the course of the league for them along with the points table. The team finally broke their streak by defeating Hanwha Life Esports in an exciting match with a scoreline of 2-0. This was the momentum the team needed to bounce back in the game and KT’s performance in the last two games proved it.

KT Rolster clinched a close victory in the crucial game against Nongshim RedForce

Kt showed outstanding performance in the game against Nongshim RedForce.Despite the pressure, the team outfoxed the Redforce and claimed their 7th league victory. Following this victory, the team effectively grabbed control of their own qualification.

It was a vital game for the squad, and if they didn’t win, Fredit BRION and Kwangdong Freecs would have taken control of the qualification. According to the current standings, even if KT loses their next match against Gen.G, Kwangdong Freecs would need to win both of their matches to dethrone KT from the spot.

In-game one, KT and Nongshim RedForce battled closely throughout the early game as each fight went back and forth while the gold remained even.

KT’s “Aiming” showcased an incredible performance on the Kaisa pick, and dealt 30,000 damage, the most in the game. Red Force ADC Ghost overshadowed Aiming’s efforts by carrying the late-game team fights and despite the incredible performance by Aiming, Red Force manages to claim victory.

It was round two and KT did exactly what was expected from them by every fan, the team bounced back. In the first 15 minutes of game two, both teams started dominating each other for map control and to accumulate pressure on the opponent team.

In the late game, Aiming took the charge of KT, with Jinx’s late-game scaling KT was able to overcome the pressure that Nongshim RedForce had accumulated thanks to Canna and Ghost. Aiming grabbed command of the late-game team fights on Jinx, and the game ended with a 6/1/4 score.

KT’s win in the second game significantly boosted their confidence, and they were one round away from the victory. The team put everything they had and took an aggressive start in the third game. Life with Karma, VicLa with Galio, and Aiming with Caitlyn helped KT gain a massive lead and ultimately end the game and series in 25 minutes.

This win put KT in 6th position at the LCK group stage standings and after having a rough time the team is finally looking in a strong position to qualify for the playoffs.
