Riyadh Masters 2022 runs between July 20-24 and offers $4 million in prize money. The event will see 10 of the world’s best Dota 2 teams.

Because of the high competitive level, the winner of this event is probably one of the strongest in the world at the moment, which means that the Dota 2 community is curious to find out the answer.

Riyadh Masters 2022 participants

Riyadh Masters 2022 is a LAN event that takes place in Riyadh, Dubai. The tournament brings together the following 10 teams:

  • PSG.LGD
  • Team Secret
  • Nigma Galaxy
  • TSM
  • Team Liquid
  • Team Spirit
  • OG
  • Tundra Esports
  • Royal Never Give Up
  • Deboosters

Southeast Asia and South America are not represented, but everyone else is here. Not all regions might be represented by their strongest teams, but at least they’re represented by some of their strongest teams. And in the case of Europe and China, the competitors are arguably the best that could have been invited.

Riyadh Masters 2022 favorites

The big favorites of Riyadh Masters 2022 are the following four teams:

  • Royal Never Give Up
  • PSG.LGD
  • OG
  • Team Spirit

The Chinese teams seem to be the strongest, but OG and Team Spirit could win as well. As for the other participants, it’s hard to count them among the favorites, either because they play with stand-ins or because they haven’t proved to be in excellent form in the last few months.

Arguably, the TI10 champions Team Spirit are still in great shape and their roster has remained intact. This means that they’re still the same team that won The International 10, which should make other competitors worried.

The same can be said in OG’s case, who won the last Dota Pro Circuit Major. However, let’s not forget about the Chinese teams. Historically, China has always been well-represented at Dota 2 tournaments. And the players who make up RNG and PSG.LGD are some of the best in the region.

If only one team had to be picked as the big favorite, it would probably be Royal Never Give Up. The synergy between Hu “kaka” Liangzhi and Lu “Somnus” Yao is simply one of the best in the world.
