CCT Online Finals #1 is down to the final eight teams. After five days of tough matches, the competition is nearing its end and some of the favorites have already been eliminated.

Ninjas in Pyjamas were unlucky enough to run into two formidable opponents: Into The Breach (1-2) and 9INE (0-2). Other top teams, such as BIG and FORZE Esports, are still in the race and could easily win the tournament.

There are also several lower-ranked teams among the final eight, such as Sharks Esports and Endpoint. These teams have had an excellent performance and it’s obvious that they trained hard for the tournament. Despite being an A-tier event, CCT Online Finals #1 offers $200.000 in prize money. The winner gets $100.000, which is a lot.

The final eight teams

Into The Breach were expected to do well, simply because of their Paris Major result (5th-8th). Their first opponent was Aurora Gaming, who missed the Major and finished 4th-6th in the European RMR Decider.

The second match was much tougher but ITB proved to be strong enough to win it and sent NiP to the lower bracket after three maps: 12-16 on Vertigo, 16-12 on Mirage, and 12-16 on Inferno. The best member of ITB was Sebastian “volt” Malos. His K-D score was 66-52. He also had a rating 2.0 of 1.28, which was the highest on the server.

For FORZE, the run started against HAVU Gaming, a fairly strong team from Finland. The match was not difficult but it wasn’t easy either: 16-11 on Nuke and 16-11 on Inferno.

In the upper bracket quarterfinals, FORZE lost the first map against Bad News Eagles, a team that got a good result at the Paris Major. But on the second and third maps, they managed to win.

Another team that started the tournament with two consecutive victories was ECSTATIC. Their opponents were Movistar Riders and BIG.

Perhaps the most surprising performance of the tournament was that of Sharks Esports, who defeated 9INE and Endpoint in their first two matches.

In the lower bracket, Endpoint, BIG, BNE, and 9INE are about to play in the third round. Both matches will be interesting to watch. In the one between BNE and 9INE, the result is very hard to predict. Both teams have done well in recent months and are strong enough to claim the victory.
