The rumors in the League of Legends competitive scene continue even though we are not yet in the offseason, and Worlds 2023 is in full swing.

However, this does not mean that teams are not in contact with players to plot a strategy that will lead them to victory in the next season. One such team is LCK’s Liiv SANDBOX, which looks set to bring Lee “JeongHoon” Jeong-hoon back home.

JeongHoon has been competing in the LEC for the past two seasons, and let’s remember that, at the time, he was considered one of the best talents in the LCK. However, his jump to the LEC took him off the radar, and many may have forgotten about him.

JeongHoon would sign with Liiv SANDBOX for the upcoming season

According to a report from esports journalist Alejandro “anonimotum” Gomis, JeongHoong would have a verbal agreement to join Liiv SANDBOX for next season.

If this move is completed, it would be excellent news for the team, the fans, and the player himself. Let’s remember that many South Korean players move away from the LCK because they do not have space in any of the Tier 1 teams’ squads.

However, the mere fact that he could return home suggests that the player could return to his top competitive level and play in one of the best leagues in the world.

On the other hand, if JeongHoon’s signing by Liiv SANDBOX is confirmed, he will join a squad with very experienced players such as:

  • Lee “Clozer” Ju-hyeon
  • Noh “Burdol” Tae-yoon
  • Park “Teddy” Jin-Seong

About JeongHoon

The 23-year-old Korean came to the LEC, specifically Astralis, in mid-2022 and immediately became one of the best supports in the league. However, the team’s overall performance was not ideal, as they failed to achieve the desired success in any of the splits they played.

However, thanks to his excellent level of play in the Summer Split 2022, JeongHoon won the “Rookie of the Split” award.

JeongHoon is known in the community for the excellent and cheerful behavior he shows in his life outside the LoL servers. However, this does not detract from the extraordinary talent of the Korean, who won the affection of many LoL fans thanks to his excellent plays. Although Astralis never had a real chance to become one of the best in the LEC, JeongHoon was always there to carry his team.

Similarly, these reports come after news broke that Astralis sold its LEC spot to Karmine Corp several weeks ago. As a result, the entire Astralis squad will have to find a new home for next season at the top competitive level of League of Legends.
