Is upcoming League Champion Milio inspired by a Disney character?

Riot Games has just introduced the next League of Legends champion, Milio, the Gentle Flame, along with a short biography and an excerpt from his Super Series adventure.

Although there isn’t much information, the bio indicates that Milio is a loving boy from Ixtal who, despite his young age, has mastered the hypothesis of fire and has discovered something completely new: soothing fire. Based on this, he is likely a male mage or enchanter and could be a supporting champion.

Milio’s biography

Milio’s biography recounts how his grandmother Lupé, an elementary teacher, separated from her twin Luné after conspiring to defy the Yun Tal.

Lupé, several years after Milio’s birth, attempted to teach him to control the elements but was unsuccessful. Nevertheless, Milio continued to learn independently, regardless of his grandmother’s restrictions.

Finally, one day he found a wounded hunter after following fireflies. Milio placed his hands on the hunter’s belly and felt a “flash of heat,” the flame inside the hunter. Milio had learned a new skill. He christened the “soothing flame,” which he uses to heal the hunter.

He then shows his grandmother the talent he has discovered and begins to perfect his ability to control the element. Sometime later, he sets out on a journey to Ixaocan to restore his family’s honor. However, before leaving, he and his grandmother create a backpack to hold “his ever-burning fire,” the soothing flame he wields.

You might wonder why he looks familiar or what inspired the mythology and character of the new League champion; after reading his bio, looking at the first report, and even glancing at his splash art. The answer to this question may leave you surprised.

Milio inspires himself with the Disney movie Encanto

Since his appearance, fans have analyzed Milio’s origin, traits, and abilities. While we won’t know these details until Riot reveals them, we do know that the movie influenced Riot. The popular Disney movie Encanto, centered on a family with magical abilities living secretly in the Colombian mountains, inspired the developer.

Encanto was undoubtedly one of the main inspirations for Milio, according to Riot developer Reav3, which responded to a query from a League player, partly because the movie had just been released while production had just begun

Milio and his “fuemigo” were motivated by Encanto, though little is known about Milio, his abilities, role, or the type of champion he is.
