After a spectacular Spring Split 2023, FlyQuest’s expectations for the Summer Split were high, as this team looked like a train without brakes in the first months of the season. However, the team has started this Summer Split in the worst possible way, as they lost for the second time in two games played.

This team seemed ready for anything and, above all, to make a great impression in this Summer Split. Likewise, it is worth noting that this Split has just begun, and the team can recover, but their two losses have been against 100T and TSM, two teams playing with substitutes in this first week.

FlyQuest has a complicated start to the Split

FlyQuest, one of the most dominant teams of the LCS Spring Split, started its way in the Summer Split on the wrong foot. The green squad lost against 100 Thieves and TSM, two teams not playing with their starting lineup because some players could not arrive in the country due to visa problems.

FlyQuest’s expectations for the start of this Summer Split 2023 were very high. In addition to having a competitive team that surprised everyone in the spring season, the team signed Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme as Support, in addition to having one of the best AD Carry in the league, Lee “Prince” Chae-hwan.

FlyQuest can’t beat TSM

In the second match played in this Summer Split, FlyQuest started on the right foot after getting an initial advantage that made them dream of their first victory of the season. All this was thanks to an excellent gank of the team in the Top Lane. However, after 10 minutes of the game, the team started to make unforgivable mistakes that were undoubtedly perfectly exploited by TSM.

So much was TSM’s dominance that they completely outplayed FlyQuest throughout the game, as neither Prince nor Vulcan nor Mingyi “Spica” Lu were in sync to help their team.

Insanity surprises with TSM

Hours before the Summer Split kicked off, TSM announced the signing of Insanity as the sixth player, and, in addition, they announced that the player would play in the first week of the season as a starter due to the visa issues that Lee “Ruby” Sol-min, the team’s most recent signing, has.

However, in TSM’s first two games, Insanity has surprised the fans and, above all, the organization. In the game against FlyQuest, Insanity completely outplayed Lee “VicLa” Dae-Kwang in the mid-lane and was one of the key pillars of TSM’s victory.

Insanity was undoubtedly TSM’s best player in this match, as he took half of the team’s kills and didn’t die during the 33 minutes the match lasted.

As a result of this great performance, many team fans are cheering for TSM to keep Insanity instead of Ruby, which should be available for the second week of the tournament.

FlyQuest needs to wake up as soon as possible to remain one of the top title contenders in the LCS Summer Split 2023. Moreover, their third match will be a tough test and a rematch of the Spring Split playoffs against Golden Guardians. Let’s remember that FQ lost to Golden Guardians in the final of the Lower Bracket in the previous Split.
