LCS Spring is about to enter week five and so far, three teams have been considerably stronger than the rest. These teams are FlyQuest, Evil Geniuses, and Cloud9.

Unfortunately for 100 Thieves, their project has started to crumble. The team had a great start and it looked as though Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng would have a successful return to the LCS, But after the first four weeks, 100 Thieves have a record of 4 W – 5 L and are currently ranked seventh.

The story so far

It’s not hard to see that FlyQuest are the strongest team in the LCS at the moment. Their results speak for themselves and only one team has been able so far to defeat them, despite the best-of-one format. That team was TSM but their record is 5 W – 4 L, so this was most likely a fluke.

FlyQuest’s current record is 8 W – 1 L and we will likely see more of the same going forward.  The second and third place teams are only one step behind them, but have looked much shakier so far.

Week five predictions

Week five of LCS Spring will likely be rough for a lot of teams, including 100 Thieves and TSM. Both of them will face strong opponents and their positions in the rankings table are likely to drop.

100 Thieves will play against FlyQuest in the first match of the week, which will almost certainly put their record at 4 W – 6 L. As for TSM, they might beat Counter Logic Gaming but it’s doubtful that they can do the same against Cloud9.

Dignitas, the least successful team in the LCS (0 W – 9 L) is preparing to end the split with an abysmal record. Hopefully for them, they will win one match in the coming weeks, but it won’t happen this week. That’s for sure. Their opponents will be Evil Geniuses and FlyQuest, arguably the strongest teams in the league.

For EG, the entire week looks easy and if FlyQuest somehow lose against 100 Thieves, the situation at the top will be even. In fact, three teams might have an identical record after week five, because Cloud9’s opponents are significantly weaker than them.

For Golden Guardians, this week will define their final position in the Spring split more than any other. They are currently ranked fourth with a record of 5 W – 4 L, but they’ll play against Evil Geniuses and Cloud9, and they’re expected to lose both matches.
