Excel Esports and G2 Esports qualify for LEC Summer Split 2023 playoffs

The important day arrived in the Group Stage of the LEC Summer Split 2023, as four teams were playing for direct qualification for the tournament playoffs. While it is true that we all expected G2’s victory against Team BDS, the big surprise came from Excel, who achieved an excellent victory against SK Gaming to seal their ticket to the next phase.

On the other hand, we have Team BDS and SK Gaming, who are waiting for the winners of the Elimination Match in each of the groups to fight for the last spots in the Summer Split 2023 playoffs.

Excel Esports beats SK Gaming by 2-1

There is no doubt that Excel Esports continues with its excellent pace of play and that, without a doubt, they are now more than the revelation of the tournament. Let’s remember that this format being used in the LEC was released this season, so it is the first time that teams face these three phases (regular season, Group Stage, and Playoffs).

We say this because Excel comes from disputing the Winter and Spring Split, and after qualifying for the first time to a Group Stage, they also managed to qualify for the first time to the playoffs. As a result, the team’s new additions revived the lineup, and will now play for a ticket to the Split Grand Final against G2 Esports.

Despite losing the second match, the British squad shined from start to finish in this series against SK Gaming. Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu and Felix “Abbedagge” Braun were the fundamental pillars of Excel in this excellent victory against SK. G2 Esports pass the steamroller to Team BDS

On the other hand, G2 Esports fulfills the second consecutive series in this Group Stage of the LEC Summer Split 2023 and reaffirms its status as favorites by passing the steamroller against Team BDS and beating them 2-0.

There is no doubt that the Samurai performed perfectly in this BO3 since Team BDS was not even the shadow of the team that defeated Team Heretics in the first match. As a result, G2 closed the series in the blink of an eye.
