DreamLeague S20 is about to enter the final stage. The tournament’s playoffs will take place between June 24-25 and will involve just four of the initial 16 teams. This means that we’re down to the best of the best.

At this point, we do not yet know who will play against who in the initial matches. But we do know that PSG.LGD will start in the upper bracket while Talon Esports will start in the lower bracket.

It’s a bit strange to see the 3rd and 4th place teams start the playoffs in the lower bracket. Given how few teams are left in the race, it would have been nice to give everyone two tournament lives at this point. In other words, all four teams should have started in the upper bracket.

That aside, for PSG.LGD it will be very hard to miss the Grand Final. They would have to lose twice in a row for that to happen. It’s much more likely that they will either win the upper bracket Final or at least the lower bracket Final.

Favorites

Apart from PSG.LGD, who have already demonstrated their exceptional capabilities in stage 2 of DreamLeague S20, it’s hard to believe that Gaimin Gladiators won’t compete in the Grand Final or at least the lower bracket Final after everything they’ve achieved this season.

The only problem is that Talon and BetBoom Team are also strong at the moment. In BetBoom’s case, we know that if they focus 100% on what they need to do and don’t choke (as they often do), few teams can rival them.

They have some of the most talented players in the world right now and only the likes of Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon are as dedicated as them. For these 20-year-olds, the good old saying applies: “Dota 2 is love, Dota 2 is life.”

When you play for 80 hours per week, how can you not be exceptionally good at what you do? But even among the best of the best, there are strength differences. Occasionally, luck can also play a role in determining the winner of a match. Someone gets away with 10 HP and the game is lost because of that.

Such occurrences are rare but they tend to be more frequent when the two teams are evenly matched.

All things considered, the final results should look like this:

  • 1st: PSG.LGD
  • 2nd: Gaimin Gladiators
  • 3rd: BetBoom
  • 4th: Talon Esports
