Arcane receive two nomination at Emmy Awards

A yet another accolade for Riot and Netflix as Arcane has been nominated for Outstanding Animated Program at this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards, along with The Simpsons, Rick & Morty, Bob’s Burgers, and What If…?.

After winning 9 nominations at the Annie Awards this year, the hot venture of Riot and Fortiche is off to achieve excellence in the television industry. The series has been nominated for Emmy awards in two categories— Outstanding Animated Program and Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series And Animation. The prominent award-giving organization is well-known for its Annual Emmy Ceremonies when it recognizes the top American television programs, series, and performers.

Arcane continues to bring more glory to Riot and Netflix

The spectacular story of Vi and Jinx took years to produce with unmatched attention to detail as Riot Games and Fortiche desire for perfection. Riot has created a stunning tale of love, sorrow, betrayal, retribution, and despair by fusing the new origin stories of beloved League of Legends champions with outstanding storytelling. Millions of people who had never heard of League of Legends were drawn in, while the series as a whole astounded casual League fans.

Anime shows are often considered childish when being compared to other genres like Sci-fi (The 100), Drama (The Crown), and Comedy ( Orange Is the New Black ). However, Arcane has shattered every stereotype, taking home nine Annie awards including the awards for Best Directing, Storyboarding, General TV Production, Writing, Voice Acting, Animated Effects, and Character Animation.

Furthermore, the series also won an award for sound editing at the 2021 Golden Reel Awards in March and was crowned the best-animated TV series at the British Film Editors Awards. An Emmy nomination for the League-based anime is another achievement, proving that game adaptations can be successful as well.

Although no release date has been announced yet for Arcane Season 2, Riot has confirmed the show is currently in production. The first season of Arcane ended with a stirring scene showing an emotionally disturbed Jinx launching a rocket at Piltover’s council chamber. However, the journey of the estranged sisters, Jinx (powder) and Vi, who are forced to take opposing sides in the horrific conflict between the steampunk cities Piltover and Zaun, will continue in season two.
