Copenhagen Flames secured the CCT South Europe Series 1 title with a win over Monte, with Thomas “birdfromsky” Due-Frederiksen’s team advancing through the playoffs with just one elimination.

Meanwhile at the CCT North Europe Series 1, Entropiq were successful. The Russian team won their first CCT event with a 2-1 win over 1WIN, for whom this was the second loss in CCT Finals, with the first being their loss against MIBR in CCT Central Europe Series 1 finals. For Entropiq, this marks the first step towards the Central Europe Studio LAN, which is expected to take place in early 2023.

CCT South Europe Series 1

By winning the CCT South Europe Series 1, Copenhagen Flames have claimed the first title with their new roster after beating Monte 2-1 in the Grand Final. It took the Danish team three attempts to win a CCT event — their first attempt was in CCT Central Europe, where they were defeated by ECLOT in the round of 16, and the second was in the CCT North Europe series, where they got knocked out by Entropiq in the quarterfinals.

Both Copenhagen Flames and Monte started the tournament in the Swiss Stage. The Flames initially took a 2-0 lead before eventually ending the group stage with a 3-2 score. Monte enjoyed an opening win before taking two upsets and finishing the group stage with a similar score of 3-2.

Continuing their way to the grand final, Copenhagen Flames defeated Websterz (1-2) in quarterfinals and forZe (2-0) in semifinals. Meanwhile, Monte secured their spot in the decider with victories over ALTERNATE aTTaX (2-1) and Tricked Esport (2-1).

CCT North Europe Series 1

Entropiq has won the CCT North Europe Series 1 after a hard-fought 2-1 final victory over 1WIN. The three-map streak ended with a 16-5 win on Inferno. Both finalists were invited to the playoffs, meaning they skipped the first Swiss Stage.

Entropiq’s victories in the tournament were convincing, although at least one map went into overtime in every game. They were able to beat BLUEJAYS, Copenhagen Flames, and IKLA before securing a spot in the final. On the other side of the group, 1WIN went into overtime against Into the Breach, but then easily defeated SAW and Tricked to secure their place in the finals.

The finals began with a hard-fought first map on Ancient, with two teams dominating on the CT side. The first half belonged entirely to Entropiq, who held a 12-3 lead but were unable to muster four rounds of T’s after the break and ended up losing the map 14-16.

Things started the same way on Dust2, with Entropiq again taking a 12-3 lead, but this time on the T-side. Although the opponents tried to catch up, this time Entropiq managed to win the game 16-12.

Entropiq were able to maintain their impeccable T-side form in the decider on Inferno, where they wasted little time and won the map 16-5 along with the CCT North Europe Series 1 title. Nikolay “mir” Bityukov was Entropiq’s MVP with a rating of 1.23 in the finals.
