The announcements continue from the Danish organization recently in the spotlight in the CS2 competitive scene, Heroic. And this time, they have announced another alternate player for the Fall Finals 2023.

The Danish organization announced Rasmus “Zyphon” Nordfoss, part of the Sprout squad, as a new alternate for the Fall Finals 2023 played in two weeks. This shows that the organization does not yet have a specific plan to build a squad for next season.

However, everything will depend solely on the team’s performance in this tournament and the result they get above all.

Heroic announces Zyphon as stand-in for the BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2023

Through a post on its official X account, Heroic announced that Zyphon will be the fifth player (as a stand-in) in the Fall Finals 2023.

And is that, after all the novel and drama of the last few days, where two of the superstars of the team were sent to the bench, while Casper “cadiaN” Møller returns for “The Last Dance,” now the organization announces a fifth played for a limited time.

As mentioned, Zyphon is part of Sprout’s current squad, but as the team will not be participating in the tournament in Copenhagen, Denmark, they loaned the player to Heroic. However, some reports detail that this could be a permanent signing, depending on how the team performs at the Fall Finals.

While it is true that Heroic had Christoffer “Chr1zN” Storgaard and William “sirah” Kjærsgaard as stand-ins in recent online tournaments, all indications are that this would only be for a short time. In addition, the fact that the Fall Finals will be played in Denmark means that Heroic is looking to build a competitive and experienced squad for the tournament.

About Zyphon

There is no doubt that Zyphon made a name for himself during his time with the Copenhagen Flames, where he played alongside Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard, one of the players Heroic is currently struggling with. The duo (Zyphon and Jabbi) wreaked havoc in many Tier-2 tournaments, especially when they took the team to the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 playoffs.

Thanks to his incredible talent and, above all, the success he had with the Danish squad, the 19-year-old rifler took the opportunity to get a new home on the scene and joined Sprout. Also, let’s remember that the Copenhagen Flames began to disband to the point where there was no turning back.

Zyphon, without a doubt, was a mainstay at Sprout throughout this 2023 season, as despite still being very young, he gained a lot of confidence and experience from playing in the playoffs of such a prestigious event.

In 2023, Zyphon has maintained a steady and solid pace in the Counter-Strike Tier 2 scene. Moreover, in the last few tournaments that the 19-year-old Dane has played, he has maintained a 1.12 rating, according to HLTV.

It is still uncertain whether Zyphon’s arrival at Heroic is for a limited time or will become a permanent signing. However, what is clear is that this is a really important leap in the rifler’s career, as he will now have the opportunity to play several tournaments at the highest competitive level.
