Twitch’s most popular content creator has announced that he wants to create his own company by acquiring existing teams.

The community of content producers on Twitch is very familiar with esports. For example, Felix “xQc” Lengyel, Twitch’s most popular streamer, played Overwatch professionally before devoting himself entirely to streaming.

Many of these influencers play an essential role in clubs’ success, which increasingly rely on their growing roster of streamers to build their brands.

Some streamers have already been encouraged to form their organizations, and the Canadian creator seems to be next in line.

xQc wants to found his esports organization

After expressing his desire to create a VALORANT team weeks ago, the former professional Overwatch player now says he wants to start his own esports company.

However, to launch his club brand, xQc would be looking to buy already established teams from various leagues. Furthermore, the intent comes on the heels of the streamer’s following statement:

“Esports teams are not profitable; those supported by content creators are.”

According to xQc’s live statements, he intends to buy three teams: a VALORANT team, a Rocket League team, and a League of Legends team. In addition, in the case of Riot Games’ MOBA, it is essential to note that the Canadian intends to invest in La League Française (LFL), the French regional league.

As an example, the streamer is thinking of Moist Esports, a club funded by investments from content creators like Ludwig. Moreover, the news comes out at a time when esports funding is a controversial topic.

Other streamers form their esports organizations

The return of xQc to esports as a team owner generates expectations among his followers, and, in some cases, inevitably comparisons with other figures.

We can mention the case of Ibai Llanos, who is one of the principal owners of the esports organization KOI. Ibai allied with Kosmos, Gerard Piqué’s company, to create the project from scratch. However, there’s a clear difference between the streamers, as xQc wants to form his organization with already formed teams.

Team Heretics, formed by content creators such as Jorge “Goorgo” Orejudo and co-owners such as David “TheGrefg” Cánovas, is another club that could share some similarities with the organization xQc wants to form. Like KOI, Heretics is a relatively new club with content creation as one of its main strengths. Both KOI and Heretics have strong streaming communities that draw audiences to other areas, such as co-streams, in addition to their own or the club’s content.
