The first week of the main VALORANT league in the American region has ended, and the favorite teams have taken a step forward and won in their first matches.
We are talking about Cloud9, FURIA, Leviathan, LOUD, and Sentinels, who won their respective matches to kick off what will be a spectacular tournament. Each team showed what they are made of in this first week, and we expect them to give us seven more weeks of exciting matches.
Let’s look at what happened in Week 1 of the VCT Americas.

Sentinels and FURIA make a very good first impression
First, we must highlight that Sentinels got their first win of the season, surprising all the fans after a role change in their players. Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi became controller, Bryan “pANcada” Luna became a lurker, and Rory “dephh” Jackson with Breach.
Undoubtedly, these moves took a while to work in this first game, but at the end of the day, the boys brought out their talent and achieved an excellent victory over 100 Thieves with a 2-1.
WHAT. A. SERIES.
The first match of #VCTAmericas ends in a 2-1 victory for @Sentinels!

FURIA, meanwhile, did the same against KRÜ Esports, the VALORANT division of Argentine footballer Sergio “Kun” Agüero’s esports organization. Although KRÜ’s boys started very well in the first map (Split) and were close to winning, the Brazilians reacted and completed the victory 13-11. Then, we move to the second map (Ascent), where FURIA annihilated the Argentinean team to take the series 2-0.

LOUD and Cloud9 deliver and take the win on day two
The reigning world champions, LOUD, showed that the team is still at a great level and does not want to repeat their defeat in the final of the VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo.
LOUD started with a very solid victory in Split by 13-5; Erick “aspas” Santos (268 ACS and 1.36 Rating) was the server’s best player. Then, in the second map (Lotus), MIBR reacted and hit back the world champions with a score of 11-13 with a spectacular Matheus “RgLM” Rodigoli, who finished with 272 ACS and a 1.30 Rating.
Finally, in another extremely close match, LOUD could seal its 2-1 victory, thanks to a great performance by Cauan “cauanzin” Pereira, who helped the team secure a 13-11 score.
AN INCREDIBLE SERIES BUT THE WORLD CHAMPIONS BRING IT HOME!@LOUDgg take a 2-1 win in their #VCTAmericas debut!

Cloud9 is off to a strong start after much criticism about the lineup they presented for this VCT Americas, as they managed to crush Evil Geniuses with a 2-2 score.
While it is true that both teams very well contested both maps, Cloud9 managed to shut the mouths of many who claimed that they would be a failure in this tournament. While there is still a long way to go, starting with a 2-0 win is a great morale boost for any team.
A CLEAN SWEEP 🧹@C9VAL dominate and secure a 2-0 win in their #VCTAmericas debut!

Leviathan closes the first week with a crushing win over NRG
Finally, the Chilean team, also called to be a protagonist in this VCT Americas, got their first tournament win by crushing NRG with a great 2-0. There is none other than Francisco “kiNgg” Aravena (237 ACS and 1.46 Rating), who carried his team during this series in both Pearl (13-11) and Lotus (13-4).
