With the success of Arcane, the League of Legends series brought to life by Netflix, many fans are wondering: is VALORANT getting its own series?

Following the success of Riot Games’ television series Arcane, all eyes are on two games, League of Legends and VALORANT with large fan bases that apparently can make a perfect movie or a TV show.

Since Arcane’s release two years ago, League of Legends has skyrocketed in popularity and spawned a thriving cinematic universe. And while fans are eagerly awaiting the next part of the story, many are asking whether VALORANT will get its own TV series.

Will VALORANT be implemented as a series as well?

With countless stories to tell and a wealth of information already available in-game, many people are wondering if will there ever will be an Arcane-style television series for VALORANT and its ever-growing roster of agents. Riot has revealed that a cinematic implementation could be quite possible and maybe something like this is already being produced.

Although Riot hasn’t provided a definitive answer, it seems that it’s possible. However, even if there’s a series based on VALORANT in the works, it doesn’t look like it’s coming any time soon though.

Back in May this year, Creative Director David Nottingham wrote on the Ask VALORANT blog:

“Arcane was amazing! We’d be lying if we said we had no hopes or dreams of one day delivering something of this magnitude in the Valorant universe, but wow, our League of Legends cousins set an insanely high bar with the series!

“We set out from the start to create an expansive universe with a variety of characters to support any potential future experiences we think players would want, including premium entertainment.”

Implementation will not happen in the near future

“BUT… don’t expect anything too soon,” he insisted. “We’re going to remain hyper-focused on the game for quite a while and we still have a lot to do to continue expanding the universe in support of Valorant the game.”

While Nottingham’s comments sound promising, it’s important to note that he makes it clear that nothing should be expected anytime soon. This is of course a very undefined period of time, but it is probably more a question of years than months.

As well as working on an Arcane season 2, Riot is likely exploring other areas of the League of Legends universe as well. Only time will tell when we will get a series or a film and until then we will, unfortunately, have to be patient.
