The third tour of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit in Western Europe is set to kick off tomorrow, June 7. The first division will run until July 13 and during this time, four out of eight Dota 2 teams will qualify for PGL Major Arlington which is set to take place in August.

The WEU Tour 3 Division I will feature eight teams, with two teams advancing from the second division thanks to good results. The competition format remains the same as in other DPC qualifiers a single round-robin bracket with all matches being best-of-three.

Teams

The overall shared prize pool for the tournament is $205,000 and 1,150 Pro Circuit Points. Apart from that, four teams out of eight will earn a chance to represent Western Europe at the next Dota 2 Major in Arlington, the last big Dota 2 event within the DPC before The International 11. The teams that finish at the 7-8th place will fall into the second division of the Dota Pro Circuit.

here’s the team line-up for the WEU DPC 2021/22 Tour 3 Division I:

  • OG Esports
  • Gaimin Gladiators
  • Team Liquid
  • Tundra Esports
  • Team Secret
  • Entity
  • Goonsquad
  • Alliance

Team storylines

OG and Gaimin Gladiators have almost secured their spots for The International 11 and have a space to experiment a bit with their playstyle. Meanwhile, Tundra Esports showed a stable performance during the whole season, finishing third at the recent ESL One Stockholm Major 2022, therefore there are high expectations from them at this tournament.

Team Liquid appear to be secured in their region, however, on the international scene, they are leaning back and not always perfectly adapting to the playstyles of other teams. The situation with Alliance is 50-50. If they fall into the second division, there’s a chance that the organization will sign the Goonsquad roster that consists of three ex-Alliance players, who were eliminated from the squad due to their poor performance in previous tournaments.
