HoK announces new regions, tournaments as game expands beyond China

Honor of Kings’ publisher Level Infinite has officially announced that the hit MOBA will be available to play in Europe, North America, and Japan in June.

By June 20, players will be able to play the game, and pre-registration will allow players to earn extra in-game rewards when the game is officially launched.

Among the rewards are a free hero and skin, as well as milestone rewards that will add free diamonds and other in-game items.

Should the game reach 3 million registrations, an All Heroes Free Trial Pass to unlock all available heroes and allowing players to experiment with the massive hero pool of Honor of Kings.

Honor of Kings is setting its sights on targeting a global market, expanding from its traditional base of China. Its international event, the HoK International Championship featured the second-largest prize pool in all of esports in 2023, with a prize pool of US$10 million.

Furthermore, Level Infinite announced that Kuala Lumpur will play host to the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2.

“Teams from around the world will compete for their share of a US$300,000 prize pool and a place in the Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason. The Midseason event will take place during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, ahead of the Invitational Championship at the end of 2024,” Level Infinite announced in a statement.”

This is the second major MOBA event to be held in Malaysia this year, with the M6 World Championship of its main rival, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, to be also held in Malaysia at the latter part of 2024.
