Week 6 of the VCT Pacific League is history; all the teams have played the tournament’s first six games, and we already know some of the playoff qualifiers. However, before that, we must mention that Paper Rex got the fourth win of the tournament after an excellent reverse sweep against Talon Esports.

With this result, Paper Rex climbs to the third place of the table but is tied with a 4-2 record with Gen.G Esports, T1, and ZETA DIVISION. Also, it is worth noting that DRX managed to qualify for the VCT Pacific League playoffs and could secure the top spot in the table with one more win.

Now, let’s see what happened in the last match of week 6 of the VCT Pacific League.

Paper Rex apply a reverse sweep to take a masterful win over Talon Esports

Paper Rex has had more problems than they could have imagined in this VCT Pacific League. However, the team has found a way to come out on top and win in tough matches. There is no doubt that Talon Esports made things very difficult for themselves after winning the first map. But Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto led his team to victory in the next two maps to secure the series in their favor by 2-1.

The series between Paper Rex and Talon Esports was played on Pearl (TLN), Split (PRX), and Fracture (decider).

Pearl

We saw on the first map either some relaxation by Paper Rex or a spectacular comeback by Talon Esports. It doesn’t matter which way you want to look at it, as the match was phenomenal from start to finish.

Paper Rex started very strong; the Talon Esports map pick won the first six rounds on their attacking side. Then, however, the TLN boys woke up and managed to make up the score in the first half with a 4-8 score.

In the second half, it was a completely different story; Thanamethk “Crws” Mahatthananuyut of the Thai team managed to display spectacular offense to come from behind and lead his team to a 13-11 victory.

Split

In Paper Rex’s map pick, we could again see an incredible level of play from f0rsakeN and Ilya “something” Petrov, who managed to even the series 1-1 with a resounding 13-4 victory.

Talon Esports managed to win the pistol round in the first half. However, this only awakened the beast inside Paper Rex, as they managed to win the next nine rounds on their attacking side to secure a considerable advantage for the change of sides.

On this occasion, a comeback was not an option, not even close, as PRX managed to win the first three rounds of the second half to make the score 12-3. Ultimately, the Singaporean side secured the 13-4 victory to level the series at 1-1.

Fracture

Finally, in Fracture, we had a spectacular battle between these two great teams. Talon Esports started very strong, winning five of the first eight rounds, but Paper Rex did not lag at any time, and they managed to even score 6-6 at the end of the first half.

However, in the second half, we witnessed an aggressive, offensive approach by Paper Rex again. This time, Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee and Jing Jie “Jinggg” Wang were in charge of annihilating Talon Esports’ defense, and, thanks to them, Paper Rex got the 13-10 victory.
