With the hype of the imminent release of CS2 in the coming days, the different tournament organizers have also made some important announcements that, without a doubt, affect the structure of the tournaments that could come in the coming months.

This time, Perfect World, the CS:GO Asia Championships 2023 organizers, announced that Team Liquid will not be able to attend the event because the players will not have enough time to apply for the Visa. As a result, the Swedish squad, NiP, will take their place in the tournament.

It is uncertain whether this tournament will be played on CS:GO or CS2, as everything seems to point to the new title being officially launched on September 27. However, everything could change in the blink of an eye, as we all know how “mysterious” Valve is with this kind of announcement.

Perfect World announce that NiP replaces Team Liquid at the CS:GO Asia Championships 2023

Through a post on its Twitter account, Perfect World announced that the Swedish squad, NiP, is replacing Team Liquid in the CS:GO Asia Championships 2023. As we mentioned, this announcement comes after the problems of some Liquid players obtaining a visa to arrive in Shanghai on time were made known.

This may be somewhat frustrating news, especially for Team Liquid, as the team needs competition to adapt to its new lineup. However, the fact that 1 or 2 players cannot participate due to visa issues makes this move more sense than ever.

The CS:GO Asia Championships 2023 will take place from November 8-12, 2023; most likely, the organizers will decide to do it in CS2. However, it remains to wait for Valve, as only they know when the new title will be available.

On the other hand, let’s remember that Valve wants to organize the second CS2 Major in 2024 in Shanghai, China, so the developers likely want to make a first test with CS2 in this tournament. Also, remember that only 8 top teams participate in this tournament, so it is the ideal scenario.

Teams in the CS:GO Asia Championships 2023

Now, NiP joins 7 teams to participate in the CS:GO Asia Championships 2023, which are as follows:

  • G2 Esports
  • ENCE
  • FaZe Clan
  • Astralis
  • MOUZ
  • LVG – China
  • 5yclone – China

With this, NiP fans are looking forward to the team’s performance, as they already gave a disappointing performance in the ESL Pro League S18, where they finish with a 1-3 record and fell out of the playoffs.
