After an underwhelming performance in the VCT Pacific Kickoff, roster changes in the BLEED squad seemed imminent. The first one taking the hit is the team’s in-game leader, Ngô “crazyguy” Công Anh. At the same time, Javier “Egoist” Chua has taken a step back after being benched, retiring to pursue his university studies.

Coming into 2024, fans anticipated the BLEED roster to become a top contender in the Pacific region after picking up world-class Duelist Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker. However, the transfer did not turn out to be sunshine and rainbows, as BLEED lost both matches in the Kickoff tournament, resulting in their elimination.

Though some may argue that it’s too early to make a roster change, the team did not perform close to what was expected, so a roster change was not out of the question.

Crazyguy’s Two-Year Journey Ends

Team captain crazyguy had been in the organization since late 2022. The Viet was integral to the organization’s current position in the Valorant scene, as he helped the team push through the Valorant Challengers Splits and eventually finish first at Ascension. The team’s win at Ascension is the only reason BLEED could participate in Kickoff with the biggest names in the region.

The 27-year-old took to Twitter to mention that his 2022 year was horrendous, but BLEED still gave him a home. He respects the decision and is looking to make a return after improving himself.

Egoist Retires From Professional Play

Egoist, who had only played two official matches under the BLEED banner, was also excluded from the active roster. The Singaporean joined the team at the same time yay did. BLEED fans are pretty aggravated with this roster move, considering Egoist performed up to standard in the little games he played.

Following the news of his removal, Egoist has decided to completely take a step back from Valorant and focus on his education. He will continue studying at university, ending his entire gaming career.

Community Reaction

The BLEED fanbase is not happy with the organization’s decision. Commenters are questioning why the team is making changes so early, considering the roster only played two Best of 3 matches.

Others are showing dissatisfaction with the organization, asking how they can refund their BLEED bundle.

With the dismissal of the two players, the BLEED roster is left with:

  • Derrick “Deryeon” Yee
  • Nutchapon “sScary” Matarat
  • Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker
  • Nikola “LEGIJA” Ninić (Coach)

The BLEED team has been sent back to the drawing board and will scramble to find appropriate replacements before their next event.
