The third Week of the VCT EMEA League has come to end with favorite teams maintaining their dominance. Let’s take a look at everything that happened in week 3 of the VCT EMEA League.

EMEA region fans are still searching for a balanced and action-packed match experience that can rival that of the Pacific and American regions. Although we witnessed a few close-contested matches during the third week, it was yet another one-sided show for the most part. Only, Team Heretics and NaVi were able to deliver an impressive performance that lasted till the third map, while the rest of the games were decided in just two maps much like the previous week.

At the end of week 3, Fnatic are sitting on top followed by FUT and Team Vitality. Team Liquid are not in a comfortable position but still not in as a condition as Karmine Corp and BBL Esports.

NaVi delivers against Team Heretics

On their first map pick Pearl, NaVi started as attackers. It wasn’t until the 7th round that TH secured their first round. NaVi finished the first half of the game with a score of 9-3, a scoreline that many of us are familiar with. However, NaVi seemed to have found the antidote to this curse as they confidently secured the map without any hiccups. In fact, Team Heretics failed to win even a single round in the second half. The first map concluded with a convincing scoreline of 13-3 in favor of NaVi.

The second map of Lotus witnesses an impressive comeback from Team Heretics. This map was pretty much like the previous one just NaVi were on receiving side this time. The first half ended with a 10-2 score. However, we saw an impressive fightback from NaVi. Ultimately, TH was able to finish the map in their favor with 13-9.

After a 1-1 overall score, we moved to Ascent for the decider, which turned out to be Nightmare for TH. In the entire first half, TH scored one round only. NaVi took the match with a dominating 13-2 score.

FUT Esports emerge victorious against KOI

We are on the second day of week 3 for KOI vs FUT. The first map was Icebox, which was picked by FUT. Despite, KOI starting pretty well for a few rounds, they were unable to continue the momentum. The first half ended with a 7-5 score for FUT. In the latter half as well, FUT was on the front seat all the time and finished the map for 13-6.

Just like the first map, KOI once again started by winning a few rounds. For the most part, the first half was back and forth as it ultimately ended with an even 6-6 score. Once again, KOI failed to impress in the second half. FUT secured the map with a 13-9 score. Konuralp “qw1” Şahin displayed a one-man show with freaking 52 kills in a total of two maps only.

Fnatic outshines Team Liquid

This highly anticipated match ended as a one-sided deal for Fnatic. TL picks Lotus and started as defenders. On the contrary, it was Fnatic who was looking too much comfortable on this map. In the entire first half, TL managed to secure only 1 round. The second half was witnessed back and forth round. However, it was already too late. Fnatic finished the first map with a cozy 13-6.

Moving forward to the second map of Haven. Fnatic and Team Liquid exchanged rounds to match the first-half score. The second half was a completely different story as TL was completely annihilated by Fnatic. Similarly, like the first, this map also ended with the same 13-6 score. Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev dropped 44 kills on Jett and Raze combined.

Giants Gaming and Team Vitality finished week 3 with wins

Giants Gaming emerged victorious against BBL Esports, the representative team from Turkey, in a best-of-three series. The first map played was Icebox, and despite it being BBL Esports’ map pick, Giants Gaming managed to secure a closely contested match with a score of 13-10. Moving on to the second map, Split, which is also considered a strong map for Giants Gaming, the score stood at 9-3 and was effortlessly converted into a final score of 13-3 without breaking a sweat.

In the final matchup of week 3, Europe’s Valorant powerhouse- Team Vitality met against France’s Karmine Corp. The first map of Ascent was won by Vitality with a 13-2 score. As the score also says, this was pretty much a one-sided affair. Nothing extraordinary on the second map as well. Vitality scored the second map with a 13-6 score. Tomas “Destrian” Linikas for Vitality emerged MVP with 35 kills on Omen.

The fourth week of the VCT EMEA League will begin on April 19, 2023, onwards, where Team Liquid will match against Team Heretics.
