In a second wave of bans by Valve on CSGORoll, it is estimated that more than $2 million in skins were lost on June 28 after “high-level traders” were banned.

This very large amount of money is likely to never come back, as according to different reports, this could be a network used for money laundering. This new wave of bans comes after, about a month ago, Valve deleted different accounts with large collections of skins valued at $367.3K.

New wave of bans leaves more than $2M in Skins in losses

In the last few hours, it became known that Valve banned approximately 9000 BOTS accounts from CSGO Roll, one of the top CS:GO skins betting sites today. In addition, money lost on Counter-Strike Skins is estimated to be between $2.7 and $4 million. As a result, many rare and unique skins with incalculable value were lost in this wave of bans.

According to some reports published by the verified Twitter account @variancewarren (CSGOEmpire), most of the banned traders are closely linked to CSGORoll. Recall that this CS:GO skins betting website are accused of money laundering and illegal activities. However, these allegations come from its main competitor, CSGO Empire.

On the other hand, it’s worth remembering that a change in Steam’s terms and conditions prevents users from making trades with Skins. As a result, all skins from banned skin traders will be in permanent limbo, or at least until Valve removes the ban, if that’s the case.

Valve attack skin traders

Valve’s fight against skin traders and gambling sites began in early 2023 when they banned three users with inventories valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars. On the other hand, let’s remember that the developers of our beloved CS:GO are both jury, judge, and executioner, Valve’s heavy hand comes due to a lot of pressure from governmental bodies regarding illegal gambling and betting.

Australia was the first country that has been keeping a close eye on everything to do with CS:GO skin gambling sites. Furthermore, it was announced last May that CSGORoll was banned in the country and that no Australian user could enter this website.

.

Just because this is a second wave of bans doesn’t mean Valve has turned a blind eye to everything going on with the Skins market over the last decade. CS:GO developers took a stand against such skins betting websites in 2016 after the US government pressured them.

Finally, CSGORoll was also heavily criticized when they used Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, the G2 Esports wunderkind, in one of their commercials. Recall that the video was published on m0NESY’s 18th birthday, so the community began questioning the company’s ethics.
