As a part of the recently announced roster move, Complexity has moved Paytyn “junior” Johnson to a substitute position, while signing former Dignitas player Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli to replace him on its CS:GO roster.

As usual in CS:GO, the summer break also means a transfer to a new team for many players, as organizations look to shuffle and upgrade their rosters ahead of the start of the Fall season. For Complexity, this marks the first roster move this year and also the only European acquisition to its current international roster.

Hallzerk joins Complexity

As Dignitas retired from CS:GO completely last month, hallzerk became a free agent looking for a new esports home. The 22-year-old Norwegian AWPer joined the organization back in 2020 together with Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, Richard “Xizt” Landström, Adam “friberg” Friberg and Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, reuniting with the former Ninjas in Pyjamas lineup.

However, both GeT_RiGhT and Xizt left Dignitas before the end of the same year, and the team struggled to compete at an international level. Several players from Norway and Sweden came to fill in for the team, but the line-up couldn’t achieve consistent results and their performances fluctuated.

Hallzerk was one of the best players on the team, reaching a 1.09 rating in the past 12 months. His biggest accomplishments with Dignitas include winning the BLAST Nordic Masters Spring and Fall in 2021 and the appearance in Flashpoint Season 2. Prior to joining Dignitas, hallzerk, who’s been in professional CS:GO since 2016, played for multiple Nordic teams including Nordavind (former BX3 eSports Club), icsu and Zoctai.

Junior benched

Junior joined Complexity in early 2022, when the organization signed the core of team Extra Salt after releasing its European line-up in late 2021. After spending seven months with the team, junior is now being moved to the substitute position, similarly to his previous time with FURIA Esports, where he was benched after playing with the team for six months in 2021.

Junior’s biggest achievements include winning numerous lower-tier tournaments such as ESEA Cash Cup, a second place at cs_summit 8, as well as multiple appearances at some of the biggest international CS:GO events, most recently the Roobet Cup, IEM Dallas and PGL Major Antwerp. Based on the official Complexity Twitter statement, the 21-year-old Amerrican will be looking for a new home on his CS:GO journey.

Current Complexity line-up

Hallzerk’s first appearance with Complexity will happen at the upcoming BLAST Fall Groups, scheduled to kick off on August 19.

Here’s the current Complexity line-up:

  • Johnny “JT” Theodosiou
  • Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli
  • Ricky “Floppy” Kemery
  • Michael “Grim” Wince
  • Justin “FaNg” Coakley
  • Paytyn “junior” Johnson (inactive)
  • Tiaan “Tc” Coertzen (Coach)
