Tencent, one of the biggest conglomerates in the world, announced a bunch of new plans regarding its projects in China. New collaboration and tournaments await League of Legends: Wild Rift, new competitions for Peacekeeper Elite and global release of Arena Breakout. Tencent Esports Summit 2022 was held yesterday for almost two hours with heads of departments revealing the projects.
New League of Legends: Wild Rift ecosystem
The Tencent Esports Summit announced a new League of Legends: Wild Rift esports ecosystem for the Chinese region, which will consist of the primary Wild Rift League (WRL) and the secondary Wild Rift Tour (WRT). Through this project, Tencent reportedly seeks to build a complete league system with a full-fledged promotion. Moreover, the company introduced a new Wild Rift competitive event called Ionian Cup which is scheduled for September 2022.
WRL will launch in October 2022 and it will partner with the Chinese electronics manufacturer OnePlus to maintain the joint EventMachine Recycling Program, aimed at enhancing the green culture.
Moreover, Tencent shared that it has established its first training facility for Wild Rift League players and will also fitness programs for the teams to care for their health and wellbeing. Such regulation of team activities is a step towards a healthy ecosystem in esports and proper values for the industry.
Regarding the partnerships, Tencent also revealed the major collab with Coca-Cola, a famous soft drink that will happen on August 12. The companies will launch a co-branded Coca-Cola design that will have Wild Rift champions on the cans for the Chinese region.

Wild Rift has a vast esports ecosystem in China. Since its release, the game reached $500 million in revenue, with the Chinese market making up to 72.2% ($364 million) of users’ expenditure.
New esports competitions in Peacekeeper Elite
Peacekeeper Elite, Chinese version of PUBG Mobile, also awaits a new ecosystem with new tournaments including National League, Streamer Championship, College Championship, All-Gamer Championship and City Championship. Tencent has also revealed the approximate dates for PUBG Mobile Invitational, which is set to take place in September, and for PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022, which is scheduled for November – January.

Other projects
Arena Breakout, a game that resembles Escape from Tarkov, but for mobile devices, is set for its international esports release. For Chinese market, Tencent announced Arena Breakout Pioneer Series with a prize pool of $150,000. The competition includes four qualifiers and an offline Grand Final.
Along with Arena Breakout, Tencent shared that Call of Duty Mobile Asia Autumn Invitational will happen in November. Furthermore, Honor of Kings will get World Champions Cup with a $10 million prize pool and the Challenger Cup. The developers also announced a new mobile Tournament Tool app that will allow hosting Honor of Kings tournaments on your own.
