The superstar roster, consisting of TI winners and young prodigies, has met all expectations and won their regional qualifier for the $1,000,000 tournament in Dubai. Team Falcons barely had any trouble until the Grand Final, where they had to work extra hard to get past the last hurdle.

Let’s go over what happened in the MENA regional qualifier.

The Competitors Of The MENA Region

The fourth BetBoom DACHA regional qualifier featured the Middle East and Northern Africa region, which had three fierce competitors: Nigma Galaxy, PSG Quest, and Team Falcons fighting for a singular slot in the million-dollar tournament. In this low-populated Dota 2 region, the only other team worth noting was Winter Bear, a mix of Iranian and Turkish players.

Though the Falcons were heavy favorites coming into the qualifier, they had two potential roadblocks that could cause an upset. PSG Quest had been the best MENA team prior to the formation of Team Falcons, and now that they have finalized their roster, PSG Quest poses a severe threat.

Another question mark for the Falcons was Nigma Galaxy, who had formed a new roster. Nigma brought Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan and Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi, some of the most celebrated players in the Dota 2 scene. However, fans questioned the three additions and felt they were underwhelming.

The Road To The Grand Final

Team Falcons met PSG Quest very early in the qualifier and easily sent them down to the Lower Bracket after a 2-0 victory. Meanwhile, Nigma Galaxy’s roster debut proved unsuccessful after a shocking loss to Winter Bear, who fielded ex-Nigma player Kasra “Mikey” Mesbah.

While Falcons cruised through the Upper Bracket and reached the Grand Final, PSG Quest was busy battling for their lives against Nigma Galaxy in the Lower Bracket. KuroKy and the crew seemed to have figured out and fixed some problems, as they could take the first map against PSG Quest.

However, the hopes of Nigma fans were quickly crushed as PSG Quest took the second and third maps with almost no issues. This result meant PSG Quest would face Winter Bear in the Lower Bracket Final for a rematch against the Falcons.

After a swift 2-0 victory, PSG Quest set up a revenge match against Team Falcons in the Grand Final.

The Battle For Qualification

The Grand Final matchup was decided, and we got the matchup most fans expected. At this point, the Falcons looked unstoppable, and PSG Quest looked a little shaky. So, most viewers expected a blowout in this Best of 5 series, but that was not the case.

Team Falcons took the first map after a drawn-out game, where they held the lead for the entire 53-minute game. Though the game lasted a while, it didn’t reflect PSG Quest having a chance throughout the game.

Suddenly, PSG Quest switched gears and ramped up, stomping the second and third maps in compelling fashion to put them in the lead 2-1. Team Falcons fans were beginning to bite their nails as the upset seemed very probable.

Fortunately, the experienced Falcons players could keep their composure and play their best Dota. The Falcons proceeded to win the final two maps, preventing PSG Quest from reaching double-digit kills in both. This victory meant Team Falcons had won the MENA qualifier, and will make an appearance at Dubai.

The expected winners have come out on top, and Team Falcons will play on their regional soil in the $1,000,000 tournament. Let’s see how much damage they can do.
