Sumail will stand in for Team Secret at BetBoom Dacha

Sumail “Sumail” Hassan will miss The International this year after Team Aster failed to win the Chinese Qualifier for the tournament. However, he will delight his fans by competing in BetBoom Dacha, an event scheduled to take place between September 10-16.

It appears that Clement “Puppey” Ivanov will not be able to rely on Armel “Armel” Tabios for this tournament. The young player might have returned to the Philippines to spend a few months with his family. Being in Europe is not exactly easy for someone who lives so far away from the continent.

Luckily for Puppey, Sumail was available and might have been invited to stand-in not just because a position 2 player is needed, but also because Puppey wants to see if he could cooperate with Sumail in 2024.

Of course, nothing is known about such a roster change. But it’s perfectly possible that the two of them will discuss the possibility of a transfer face to face.

The Emperor is back. SumaiL will be standing-in for us at the BetBoom Dacha LAN.

Sumail’s situation

Sumail is currently competing for Team Aster. Nigma Galaxy sent him there on a loan and he hoped to achieve something great with this organization, especially after its excellent result at The International 11, where it finished 4^th. But that didn’t materialize. Sumail will have to be satisfied with the 7^th-8^th place he got at Riyadh Masters 2023.

Knowing Sumail’s past transfers, he isn’t the kind of player who likes to stay in one place for a long time, especially after a painful season. We’ve seen him leaving OG after the organization finished 7^th-8^th at The International 10. And he will most likely leave China before the start of the new season.

Living so far away from North America and Europe is probably hard. The Chinese language takes years to learn and a player like him likely doesn’t have that many friends there. But Europe or North America would suit him well.

Team Secret’s situation

Team Secret will start 2024 in Division II of Western Europe. This means that the first half of the season will be spent playing regional matches and hopefully qualifying for Division I or perhaps even the second Major of the season. Anyone who joins Secret must be ready to fight in the trenches.

However, it wouldn’t be the first time when Sumail competed in Division II. He’s already done it for Nigma Galaxy.
