Spirit Academy crowned Champions in CCT WEU Series 1

The CCT West Europe Series 1 has ended, and we have a winner: Team Spirit Academy.

The guys from Team Spirit Academy won the championship trophy after defeating GamerLegion 2-0 in the Grand Final.

In a tournament that included Team GamerLegion, GODSENT, Team Falcons, forZe, BIG, BLUEJAYS, and Sprout, a team from the academy was the winner making very clear the success and future of this organization such as Team Spirit.

Team Spirit Academy was flawless in this CCT WEU Series 1

Spirit Academy had a shaky start in this CCT WEU Series 1, as they were crushed in the first game by the experienced Swedish team EYEBALLERS. It is worth noting that this Swedish team includes two notable figures in the history of CS:GO, Robin “flusha” Rönnquist, and Jesper “JW” Wecksell. So, experience reigned supreme in this first match.

From this moment on, Team Spirit had a clean slate. They achieved three consecutive victories to secure their pass to the tournament playoffs against For The Win Esports, Into the Breach, and Tricket Esports.

Their first big test was in the round of 16 when they faced the favorite to win the championship title, and powerful German team BIG. However, with a spectacular performance by 16-year-old Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, Spirit Academy managed to crush BIG with a resounding 2-0 win. In this series, donk had a 1.58 rating according to HLTV and a K-D of +23.

Next, the Team Spirit Academy boys had to face Team Falcons, another experienced team led by Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt and Kenny “kennyS” Schrub. However, the French team could not overcome the inspiration of the academy’s youngsters and ended up losing with a score of 0-2.

Finally, Team Spirit Academy did the same against iNation to send them home in the semifinals with another convincing 2-0 win.

Team Spirit Academy vs. Gamer Legion – Grand Final

Team Spirit faced GamerLegion in the grand final, a team that reached this match without losing a single map in the whole tournament. Their victories were really easy (all with a score of 2-0) against Tricked, GODSENT, and Apeks.

The first map of the grand final was Inferno, and GamerLegion showed their strength in their Mappick, as they took an outrageous victory with a score of 16-3. This hinted that the luck of the academy boys was running out, but that was not what happened.

In the second map, the teams moved to Nuke, and GamerLegion again demonstrated their high level of play by starting with a big 9-1 lead on the CT side. However, this dominance faded gradually, and Team Spirit Academy won up to 13 consecutive rounds to take the victory on the map with a score of 16-13.

Finally, the decisive map was Mirage, where Team Spirit used the momentum of the comeback in Nuke to start this third map sweepingly. With an 8-7 score at the change of sides, the match remained close until the end. However, the academy boys managed to secure the victory 16-13 and thus win their biggest title.
