A few days ago, we saw how G2 Esports was crowned champion of the Six Invitational 2023, beating the Brazilians of W7M in the grand final at the event held in Montreal, Canada. However, at Ubisoft’s unveiling event about what’s new for Year 8 and the R6 competitive scene, they announced that the Six Invitational will be played in Brazil in 2024.

This will be the first time that Brazil will host a Six Invitational. Remember that five editions were held in Montreal and two in Europe. Although there is still no defined venue for the event, it will be organized in a country that has been successful in this esports throughout history.

Brazil prepares to host the Six Invitational 2024

Many esports are setting their sights on South America to organize their tournaments at the highest competitive level. In addition to the exponential increase in the level of play of teams and players in the South American region, the fans have proven to be very passionate. This attracts the attention of many organizations and sponsors.

Remember that the IEM Rio Major 2022 of CS:GO was played last season. In addition, the VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo of VALORANT is being played. On the other had, the Dota 2 Lima Major 2023 is about to start. This indicates that besides being considered by principal event organizers, this region has had incredible growth within the competitive esports scene.

About the Six Invitational

The Six Invitational is the world’s most giant professional Rainbow Six Siege tournament. It is organized annually by Ubisoft, the game’s developer. It also brings together the best teams worldwide to compete for the world championship. A share of the juicy $3,000,000 prize pool, starting in 2020.

As we mentioned last Sunday, G2 Esports lifted the champion’s hammer and took home an impressive $1,000,000. In the grand final, they defeated the favored team to take home the champion’s trophy, the Brazilian outfit W7M.

On the other hand, we can note that Brazil has hosted R6 Pro League World Finals a couple of times, in 2017 and 2018. However, this is the first time the South American country has hosted the top competitive tournament in the Rainbow Six scene.

Leandro Montoya, Director of Esports at Ubisoft in Latin America, said:

“It is a great pleasure to have Brazil host the world’s largest Rainbow Six Siege tournament. In addition to the competitive strength of the teams, with titles and campaigns that stand out on the international stage. We have a passionate and committed community that can experience up close all the emotions of a world championship. All Ubisoft teams will prepare the best possible experience for fans. Whether they join us in person in Brazil or watch online.”
