The online qualifiers for the CDL 2023 Major V are history, and the Minnesota RØKKR, LA Thieves, and Boston Breach closed their participation with victories. In addition, the Breach defeated their northeast rivals, the New York Subliners, for the first time in history.

With this, the Brackets for the main event of this fifth stage of the Call of Duty League 2023, which will start next Thursday, May 25, 2023, are already defined.

RØKKR beat Toronto Ultra 3-2

Minnesota RØKKR got an excellent 3-2 victory over Ultra to add 30 CDL points in these qualifiers and finish in fifth place in the overall standings.

This series started with an extremely close match at Zarqwa Hydroelectric (Hardpoint), where after being in a spectacular give and take, the Minnesota RØKKR could hold on for the 250-233 victory. Then, in the second and third games of the series at Breenbergh Hotel (Search&Destroy) and El Asilo (Control), the Ultra’s woke up to win 6-3 and 3-0, respectively.

However, the RØKKR returned to the series in the fourth game at Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint) to take the 250-238 victory. Finally, in an extremely intense match at El Asilo (Search&Destroy), the RØKKR won 6-4.

LA Thieves get a clean sweep over London Royal Ravens

The London Royal Ravens debacle in this 2023 CDL season continues, and the team finished with a 0-5 record in these online qualifiers for Major V after losing to LA Thieves by a crushing 0-3 score.

The series began with a very exciting game at Mercado Las Almas (Hardpoint), where LA Thieves could keep the placings in check to take the 250-228 victory. Then, also at Mercado Las Almas but in Search&Destroy, the reigning Major IV champions, Los Thieves, managed a close 6-4 victory that put them close to their first win.

In the end, with a convincing 3-1 win at Breenbergh Hotel (Control), LA Thieves took a very important victory ahead of the start of the Main Event next Thursday.

Boston Breach win Northwest Classic over NY Subliners

Finally, in the northwest classic between Boston and NY, the Breach got a very good 3-1 win to get their first-ever win over their rivals. Although the series was evenly balanced from start to finish, the Breach were cold-blooded enough to take the victories.

It all started at Zarqwa Hydroelectric (Hardpoint), with a remarkable 250-216 victory for the Breach. Then, at El Asilo (Search&Destroy), the Big Apple side struck back with a crushing 6-1 win to even the series 1-1.

At Breenbergh Hotel (Control), the Breach regained control of the series with an excellent 3-1 victory. Finally, again at the Breenbergh Hotel but at Hardpoint, Boston scored a decisive 250-214 victory. As a result, Boston earn their third tournament win and secured fifth place.
