The VALORANT Challengers League in the North American region is in full swing, and several teams have decided to change their lineup for the rest of Split 2. Despite starting with a resounding victory against Disguised, Oxygen Esports decided to change their roster by including a player from their academy who is only 16 years old.

It is very common to see Challengers level teams make these kinds of changes when the start of the tournament is not as expected or simply after a disappointing performance in a recent tournament. However, Oxygen decides to make this change after a resounding victory in their first match. There is no doubt that this may leave the community somewhat confused, as there is also the fact that the new player in the squad is only 16 years old.

Oxygen announces Reduxx’s promotion to the team’s main lineup

Through an announcement on its Twitter account, Oxygen Esports announced that Yassin “Reduxx” Aboulalazm, an academy player who is only 16 years old, enters the team’s main lineup instead of Devon “randyySAVAGE” Bréard.

In addition, Oxygen emphasizes that this move comes on the same day as the player’s 16th birthday. On the other hand, the organization highlights that randyySAVAGE is leaving the team and wishes him the best in his future moves.

About Reduxx

While it is true that Reduxx is a young player, he has been a part of Oxygen Esports since 2020, when he signed as a streamer for the organization. Since the 2022 season, the 16-year-old player has been part of Oxygen’s academy team, achieving good results in some tournaments.

Then, in December 2022, Oxygen announced that the player would replace the main team, but he had not yet made his debut in the Challengers League. So, as a result, we will see this promising young player play for the first time in VALORANT’s Tier 2 NA scene. Moreover, his debut will be very soon, as let’s remember that the VCL NA Split 2 is underway.

Oxygen Esports is looking to be a much more competitive team with Reddux in their lineup, as the player is known in the scene for being very flexible when it comes to roles and for having a great performance in every game. Also, remember that Oxygen crushed Disguised playing with Rustun “Rustun” Lusk as a substitute, since by then, randyySAVAGE had already left the team.

Reduxx’s debut

As we mentioned, Reduxx’s debut on the scene will not be long in coming, as Oxygen Esports’ next match in Split 2 of the VCL NA will be next April 26, 2023, against Turtle Troop.

This player could give a lot of flexibility and power to this Oxygen lineup. However, we will have to wait and see how he performs playing at a much higher level at such a young age. On the other hand, it is also worth noting that this player has winning blood, as let’s remember that he led the Academy team to win two NSG: Summer Championship tournaments in 2022.
