One of the professional CS:GO players who decided to jump to VALORANT in 2020, Spencer “Hiko” Martin, hinted that he could return to Valve’s shooter when Counter-Strike 2 is released.

Recall that Hiko lasted two years in the competitive scene of Riot Games’ tactical shooter with 100 Thieves. However, in 2022, the player hung up the mouse and keyboard to devote himself to creating VALORANT content for the same organization.

However, the hype generated by CS2, especially for old-school gamers, is causing many to return or at least consider it.

Hiko could return to CS2

CS:GO NA legend Hiko shared a thought that undoubtedly surprised all his fans in a broadcast last May 30, 2023. The 31-year-old content creator and former professional CS:GO and VALORANT player said that he is considering returning to Counter-Strike with the arrival of CS2. Hiko wants to return mainly because he misses the game and, most importantly, the community immensely.

As we note in the clip we just shared, Hiko references that he has been creating VALORANT-only content for a few years and believes he will return to CS when CS2 launches worldwide in the summer of 2023. Instead, however, the 31-year-old American veteran claims he misses the game.

Hiko decided to retire from the competitive CS:GO scene in 2019 and, at that time, became a content creator for Valve’s shooter. However, in 2020, 100 Thieves contacted him to be their spearhead in the organization’s first VALORANT lineup. However, the player only lasted two active years on the team, and since April 2022, he has only been dedicated to broadcasting VALORANT games with his followers.

While it is true that Hiko made a name for himself in the CS:GO scene, there is no doubt that his popularity has grown since he started creating VALORANT content. Moreover, his following is infinitely larger than when he was dedicated to CS:GO. However, he still plans to return to his beloved CS.

The age difference between VALORANT and CS:GO

One of the points Hiko emphasized in his broadcast is the age difference between VALORANT and CS:GO, players.

According to Hiko, the Counter-Strike community is “better,” as VALORANT followers in many opportunities are very uncomfortable, and the streamer thinks it is because of their age. But, then, Hiko points out that the average age of the CS:GO community is much older than that of VALORANT. However, he does not yet know what will happen in his future, but his wishes are to return to Valve’s shooter.

We still do not have an exact date for the release of Counter-Strike 2. Valve, as it has always been, has been very quiet and zealous on this issue, and there are no clues as to the next update that will say goodbye to CS:GO.
