Faker is the Tom Brady and Lebron James of the League of Legends competitive scene, while one of his signature champions gets disabled at the tournament due to a bug.
100 games on Worlds stage for Faker
Making it to the biggest international event in the League of Legends scene is an accomplishment in itself, but those are not the standards Faker sets. The undisputed GOAT(Greatest Of All Time) of League just hit a career milestone that is unlikely to be matched by anyone in the near future. Yesterday’s game against Cloud9 in Group A of the League of Legends World Championship 2022, marked Faker’s hundredth game on the biggest stage.

What’s more impressive is his 72% win rate under the brightest lights. After entering the competitive scene in 2013, Faker has won and missed the World Championship three times. If he wasn’t as dominant the three years he won it and if he qualified the three years he missed it, this milestone would long be gone.

The gap between him and the rest of the pack is already large enough. With Perkz(86 games), Jensen(83), Impact(80), and Deft(76) rounding up the top five. Perkz missing this year’s event means that Jensen will surpass him this year in the Group Stage. But given Cloud9’s performance against T1 yesterday, it seems Jensen has a lot of catching up to do to Faker. The same goes for Impact and his Evil Geniuses, with both North American teams facing the bottle of the table after three days of competition.
Orianna disabled at the 2022 World Championship
Apart from the utter collapse of the MAD Lions and North American teams, this year’s World Championship has been a joy to watch. The two patches leading up to the event hit right on the spot, balancing the game to make many champions viable. Of the 98 unique champions to see the Worlds stage, it seems we won’t get any Orianna games the rest of the way. Riot have announced that they are disabling Orianna after a known animation bug has been flagged as a gameplay bug, in last night’s game between Rogue and GAM.
In RGE vs GAM game there was an Orianna ult bug. Her Ult appears to be on top of her, but she actually hits Viktor, that is away from her.
I wonder if it qualified for chronobreak (it should, unless worlds buglist [that teams get] specifically says otherwise). pic.twitter.com/9KDX3fqRfd
