After three days of intense battles in the CDL 2023 Major IV, OpTic Texas, and Los Angeles Thieves are just one step away from being the first finalists of the tournament. On the other hand, the Major III champions, Toronto Ultra, were eliminated by Atlanta FaZe, and the Subliners sent home the RØKKR.
We have undoubtedly enjoyed some great games in Major IV of the 2023 Call of Duty League season. However, only four teams are left alive to fight for the championship trophy, the $200,000, and the coveted 65 CDL Points to climb one or more positions on the overall leaderboard.
Before starting the last day of the CDL Major IV, let’s see what happened last Saturday.

OpTic Texas crush New York Subliners and sends them to the Elimination Bracket
OpTic Texas continues to prove that they are at the top of their game and scored a crushing 3-0 victory over New York Subliners to send them to the tournament’s Elimination Bracket. Furthermore, with this win, OpTic is just one win away from playing in their second consecutive final this 2023 season.
Daniel “Ghosty” Rothe (+1.61 K/D Ratio) and Cuyler “Huke” Garland (+1.60 K/D Ratio) made life extremely difficult for the Subliners in the Winners Bracket and led their team to victory.
The series started as usual at Hardpoint (Breenbergh Hotel), where OpTic got an extremely comfortable victory with a score of 250-138. Then, we move to Al Bagra Fortress, one of the maps that the Subliners have dominated in this era of Modern Warfare 2. However, the team could not succeed in Search&Destroy and fell by 3-6. Finally, El Asilo (Control) was the final blow for OpTic to take a clean victory and advance to the Winners Bracket final.

LA Thieves beat Atlanta FaZe with a reverse sweep
There is no doubt that all eyes were on this series, as there was no doubt that both teams were at a similar level of play, so an intense and exciting match was predicted. However, with a reverse sweep included, LA Thieves managed to take the victory by 3-1.
Atlanta FaZe started very strong at Hardpoint (Breenbergh Hotel). Once again, Chris “Simp” Lehr carried his team to an excellent 250-229 victory. However, this only woke up Zack “Drazah” Jordan and his Thieves, as they managed to take three consecutive wins to advance to the Winners Bracket finals.
Search&Destroy (El Asilo), Control (Breenbergh Hotel), and Zarqwa Hydroelectric (Hardpoint) were the scenarios where the Thieves managed to apply the reverse sweep to take the victory.

Atlanta FaZe turn the page and send the Major III champions home
After falling to the Los Angeles Thieves 3-1, Atlanta FaZe had a tough match in the Elimination Bracket against Toronto Ultra. Although the Ultra boys had not played a generally good Major IV, arriving with the champions tag could have been a big advantage. However, Atlanta managed to take a big win with a score of 3-2.
It all started with two very good wins for Atlanta FaZe at Breenbergh Hotel (Hardpoint) by 250-244 and at Embassy (Search&Destroy) by 6-3. Then, Toronto Ultra pulled out its champion’s chest and evened the series 2-2 thanks to a victory at Himmelmatt Expo (Control) and Mercado Las Almas (Hardpoint).
Finally, it was all over at El Asilo (Search&Destroy), where Atlanta FaZe got a very good 6-3 win to advance to the semifinals of the Elimination Bracket.

Subliners extinguish RØKKR dream
Finally, the Subliners showed why they had started this Major IV from the Winners Bracket, as they were dominant throughout the series, and their 3-1 win was more than deserved.
The Subliners won the first game at Hardpoint (Breenbergh Hotel). Then, the RØKKR unexpectedly hit back on the same stage, but in Search&Destroy with a score of 6-2.
However, this only increased the aggressiveness and determination of the Major I champions, as they managed to win 3-1 at El Asilo (Control) and 250-150 at Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint) to take the series victory and stay alive in Major IV.
