From Fortnite player to professional streamer and now to CIO of GameSquare, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is one of the personalities that has had more growth in the world of esports in the branch of content creation.

As it has become known in the last few hours, Ninja has just assumed one of the most important positions in a gaming and esports company as GameSquare’s director of innovation.

Ninja’s exponential growth

There is no doubt that Ninja has had spectacular growth since he started just streaming on Twitch his Fortnite games. Little by little, this internet personality has expanded his business model. Ninja has appeared in TV shows and movies, is part of the Fortnite characters, and now has touched the top with the position of Chief Innovation Officer at GameSquare.

The main goal of Ninja’s hiring as Chief Innovation Officer is to lead GameSquare’s growth efforts. In addition to that, it includes the creation of Ninja Lab, which is an incubator that the company defines as:

“First-of-its-kind concepts and products focused directly on connecting with youth culture.”

With this incubator, GameSquare hopes it will serve as a means of connecting with young gamers while developing consumer products and original intellectual property.

Justin Kenna, CEO of GameSquare, said:

“When I think of the gaming and innovation space, I think of Ninja. He’s known as the godfather of space. This is an evolution of his career. He’s very excited about getting involved and helping us build our strategy to connect with brands in creative ways.”

Ninja is thrilled with this new challenge in his career

This is a great challenge and a giant leap forward in a successful career for this streamer and now executive. If there is anyone who knows how to create a connection with players, without a doubt, that person is Ninja. For several years he has been one of the most popular streamers in the world, and his fan base, besides being very large, is very loyal.

Following his appointment as CIO of GameSquare, Ninja said:

“I want to build the next big thing in gaming, and I found it at GameSquare. Justin and the team have created a world-class platform to help me innovate and create engaging experiences to inspire the next generation of streamers and leave a lasting impact on the industry. I look forward to collaborating with creators, brands, agencies, gamers, and, most importantly, GameSquare fans to bring exciting new projects to fruition with Ninja Labs.”

There is no doubt that Ninja will be in charge of attracting many more celebrities to this venture. Recall that not only was he able to attract mainstream attention on the popular ESPN and Forbes story show, but let’s remember that Ninja set a record on Twitch when he played Fortnite with Drake in 2018.

In addition to the above, we can’t overlook that Blevins has more than 74 million followers on their respective social networks.

Tom Rogers, executive chairman of Engine Gaming & Media and CEO of TRget Media, said:

“Adding someone of Ninja’s caliber to the authenticity mix makes the company’s culture stand out.”
