Nemanja “nexa” Isaković has announced his return to G2 after parting ways with OG. Nexa already played for G2 Esports last year. He was with OG for over a year, but did not have the success, that he had hoped for. He is now returning to G2.

The 26-year-old Serbian joined OG at the beginning of last year, replacing Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen. Nexa helped OG qualify for the Major in Brazil, but they didn’t play as well as expected. However, it’s important to remember that the team was still quite new at the time and hadn’t yet settled in well.

Nexa parts ways with OG

After almost exactly one year, in early 2023, nexa stepped down from the active OG lineup. The results were simply not good enough and the organization didn’t just want to play mediocre and instead wanted to reach the top of the scene. However, it wasn’t just Tier 1 events that were struggling, but all the others too. It was clear that something had to change. Nexa and OG decided to part ways for good.

OG currently only has 3 players in the active lineup.

Without Nexa, the OG lineup looks like this:

Nils “k1to” Gruhne
Iulian “regali” Harjău
Maciej “F1KU” Miklas
Abdul “degster” Gasanov (on the bench)
Dion “FASHR” Derksen (on the bench)
Casper “ruggah “Due (coach)

Return to G2 Esports

Right after the announcement of OG, G2 Esports declared that nexa would play with them from now on. Nexa will replace jks in the lineup. What’s next for jks is not clear yet – there are rumors that the Falcons are interested in him and want to build a CS superteam with the player, but this has not been officially confirmed yet.

In general, there are more rumors about G2’s lineup than probably ever before.I n addition to jks, there was also speculation that Nikola “NiKo” Kovač would switch to the Falcons, but the player has since denied the rumors. There was also speculation that Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov would join the Falcons, but G2 has since put a stop to those rumors as well. Because Nexa has been part of G2 Esports before, he already knows some of the faces. He had previously played with Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač and NiKo.

With Nexa in the lineup, G2 now looks like this:

Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač
Nikola “NiKo “Kovač
Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen
Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
Nemanja “nexa” Isaković
Justin “jks” Savage (on the bench)
Jan “Swani” Müller (coach)
