FURIA to set up a European base in Malta

FURIA is one of the most important organizations in South American esports. It was founded in 2017 and already had teams in Counter-Strike, Dota 2, VALORANT, and Apex Legends. It also has a very passionate fan base.

Thanks to the recurring participation of the CS:GO team in European championships, the organization’s leadership has decided to have a new headquarters in Malta.

The new FURIA headquarters will be operational in the summer of 2023. In addition, all of the organization’s teams participating in European competitions will have a place at this venue. The new FURIA offices will be in Mellieha, a city in the north of Malta.

New FURIA headquarters

The organization’s initial investment to move into the new headquarters in Mellieha is around € 136k.

Considering the recurrent participation of FURIA teams in the most important European competitions, the organization has decided to establish a new headquarters.

Therefore, moving the organization to Europe is based on providing teams with better tournament opportunities in the region.

Jaime Pádua has expressed that his organization is very active in Malta’s esports. He is grateful to the country’s government for giving them a helping hand and making the opening of the new headquarters possible.

Pádua also comments that they have decided to relocate to provide the organization with all the necessary tools to thrive. As a result, the organization is actively contributing to the growth of esports in Malta.

Silvio Schembri, the Minister of Economy, welcomes the recent expansion of the FURIA organization. Furthermore, Schembri has supported the expansion of esports in the country.

On the other hand, Silvio Schembri commented during the ESL Pro League that the industry has grown enormously and is worth approximately $1.2 billion. In addition, he ratified the government’s support to help esports to have further expansion.

ESL Pro League commissioner Alex Inglott said the event had had an incredible reception from fans. He adds that the competition has around 500k online users per stream. This translates, without a doubt, into a very successful event.
