The wait is over! Riot Games has published a full report detailing its “Vision and Format” about the future of the EMEA region for the 2023 VCT season.
This report has been published on the official VALORANT Esports website and the organization’s official networks.
Something that had fans, especially those in the EMEA Region, on tenterhooks was what the format for the 2023 season would be like, but everything is now clear.
Riot’s vision for VCT EMEA 2023
According to Riot, their vision for the 2023 VCT season is.:
“Coming into 2023, we will continue giving the world’s greatest players a chance to shine, pushing them to the limits. Our competitions will be filled with fun and personality, but when the going gets tough, it’ll get tough. Fans will feel the sweet taste of victory, and the pangs of defeat, in what will be our most intense and action-packed season yet.”
“All this will be realized within the Messe Berlin Charlottenburg, the new home of VALORANT esports within EMEA.”
“We want to attract players from across the globe to the EMEA circuit; there’s thrills, there’s entertainment and, most importantly, a family of equally passionate players that you can bounce ideas and debates off of. In EMEA there’s something for every single player, and we can’t wait to begin!”

EMEA VCT 2023 Format
After analyzing in detail, the official report published, we can highlight that there will be some changes in the VCT format in EMEA.
First, this region will have ten teams associated with Riot Games. These teams will play every match of the season at the Messe Berlin Charlottenburg, as mentioned in Riot’s vision in the previous point.
However, before the official start of the EMEA league matches, an inaugural tournament will be played in Brazil in February.
First stop: São Paulo
The thirty teams from the three VCT leagues worldwide will travel to São Paulo, Brazil, for the first major tournament of the 2023 VCT season.
The official name of this event is not yet known, but what is certain is that it will officially kick off the season.
These franchised teams will play against each other on LAN to fight for an additional spot for their respective regional leagues for 2024.
Once this tournament is over, we will have the official debut of the VCT EMEA 2023 League.
Second stop: EMEA League starts
The highly anticipated EMEA League games will officially begin in March, in which the ten franchised teams will play each other in a round-robin format for the next eight weeks, i.e., this stop will take place from March to May.
During the first seven weeks of the EMEA League, teams will have games on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Then, in the last week of this league, a Super Week will be played, with games every day.
As with the various tournaments played this season, the EMEA League can be followed through different broadcasting platforms. Also, it will be played in front of a live audience at the Messe Berlin Charlottenburg, VALORANT’s new EMEA headquarters.
Once this stage is complete, we move on to the playoffs, where the top six teams will battle each other to be crowned the best team in EMEA. In addition, the top three teams in this region will have their ticket sealed to the 2023 Masters, to be played in June.
Third stop: Masters, LCQ & Ascension tournaments, and Champions 2023
Finally, July will see the start of the Last Chance Qualifiers, where teams will have to fight for their ticket to the Champions.
At the same time, the Ascension League will be played, where the EMEA Challengers teams will compete to secure their place in the 2024 VCT.
After all, this is over. We will have the end-of-season tournament, the Champions 2023, where the best teams from each league will face each other to fight for the label of World Champions 2023.
