The surprises continue in different important organizations in the CS:GO scene. This time it is the turn of Ninjas in Pyjamas, as the team was forced to change its lineup in the middle of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023.

Yesterday, the organization announced that Hampus “hampus” Poser is leaving the team due to “unforeseen personal circumstances.” He will be replaced by Max “maxster” Jansson, a Young Ninjas player from the NiP academy.

The reasons for hampus’ departure are unknown

The details of hampus’ departure are unknown, except for those mentioned above, “unforeseen personal circumstances.” However, NiP does not expect to have the player for the remainder of the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 Group Stage.

On the other hand, the organization added that they would evaluate the situation and expect updates regarding their lineup for the Play-In phase of the IEM Katowice 2023. This ratifies the above. Hampus is not expected to return to the team soon, as the Play-In stage of IEM Katowice starts on January 31.

maxster’s debut in a Tier-S tournament

This is Max “maxster” Jansson’s debut in the top tier of CS:GO worldwide at only 18 years of age. Maxster has been a member of the NiP academy since March 2022. Since then, he has been the mainstay of Young Ninjas to win the sixth season of the WePlay Academy League. In addition to the team’s second place in the Svenska Elitserien Spring and Fall.

This player is a pure riffler with impressive talent. He usually plays very well with M4A4 and M4A1-S in CT and AK-47 on the T-side. With Young Ninjas, maxster played 137 maps during the 2022 season and recorded a rating of 1.04, according to HLTV. However, this rating drops to 0.90 when facing more powerful teams.

By way of comparison, hampus had a rating of 1.03 during the 2022 season, according to HLTV. This rating is certainly not bad, especially considering that he played for half the season as the team’s IGL until the arrival of Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen.

Maxster takes on a TOP 10 team for the first time

According to HLTV, maxster has never previously played against a team in the TOP 10 of the world rankings. Therefore, his match against NaVi in the Lower Bracket Final will be his dream debut.

The truth is that maxster did not disappoint against NaVi in his debut. Even though NiP lost 1-2, he was the second-best player on his team with a 0.90 rating, according to HLTV. In addition, he had a K/D of 44/53 and 64.4 ADR. Furthermore, the young Swede had several notable plays during the series that caught the attention of many, as this was the first time this kid played in the big leagues.
