Mere days are separating us from the long-awaited Ruination event, and to make the wait a bit more bearable, Riot has just unveiled two new followers from Targon and Piltover & Zaun! It’s not much, all things considered, but it still warrants a bit of our attention!

Legends of Runeterra — Ruination | New Targon and P&Z Followers

Frightened Ibex is a 1 mana unit from Targon with 1 | 2. Once it is supported, both Ibex and its supporting ally will gain +1 | +1 for the rest of the round. It’s a nice follower overall, but nothing overly spectacular. Lulu-based decks will, therefore, get a solid boost, although it almost certainly won’t make them any more viable than they currently are.

Defective Swapbot is a 4 mana unit from Piltover & Zaun with 4 | 3. Once played, you’ll be able to swap its stats with another unit. This is where things get a whole lot more interesting! The wording is precise — any unit, which means any on the board, including champions. So, imagine your opponent summons a beastly Tryndamere or perhaps Nautilus. For just four mana, you’ll be able to neutralize their potent stat line like it’s nothing!

Talk about a powerful little unit! How big of an impact it’ll have on P&Z decks still remains to be seen, but the potential is certainly there!

Closing Remarks

All in all, this latest batch of cards isn’t anything worth writing home about. If you’re running P&Z decks you’re surely elated with Defective Swapbot, but other than that, we’ll just have to sit tight and await the next reveal.

There are three days left, so it’s fair to assume that Riot has something truly special in store. What that might be, however, is anyone’s guess at this point. Either way, we’ll bring you any updates from the moment they hit the web, so stay tuned!
