Black Forest Games, in collaboration with Nickelodeon and THQ Nordic, has unveiled “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin” – a game that’s about to elevate the TMNT franchise into the realm of triple-A gaming

Now, before you start humming the catchy ’90s theme song, let’s talk about this radical revelation. We’ve all enjoyed our fair share of TMNT video games over the years, but let’s face it – they’ve mostly been aimed at a younger audience. But hold onto your sai,  because the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back, and they’ve traded their nunchucks and goofy one-liners for a brooding, dystopian makeover. It’s like they’ve swapped their skateboard for a black trench coat and started quoting Shakespeare.

Black Forest Games is stepping up to the plate with “TMNT: The Last Ronin,” a game that’s poised to kick some serious shell in the triple-A gaming leagues. The Last Ronin dives headfirst into a gritty, dystopian future where the Foot Clan has conquered New York City. Mikey, our lovable party dude, is now the last surviving Turtle, armed with the weapons of his fallen brothers and a burning desire for revenge.

The game is based on a miniseries from the creative minds of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the original masterminds behind those crime-fighting turtles we all adore. However, since the game is still in development, it won’t be released for a couple of years.

TMNT Comics to get a sequel

Just like Hollywood, the Ninja Turtle universe loves a good sequel. Buckle up, because “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin II – Re-Evolution” is set to unleash another wave of mutant mayhem in December. This time, the spotlight shifts away from Michelangelo and onto a new generation of turtles, ready to step up and defend a city in turmoil.

This electrifying new chapter brings fresh faces, intense battles, and a whole lot of nostalgia for those who’ve followed the Turtles’ journey from the beginning. They’ve got names like Yi, Uno, Odyn, and Moja. It’s like the turtles are recruiting for their own reboot. And they’re leaving the sewers because let’s face it, being underground is so last century.

So, whether you’re a lifelong fan who grew up watching the classic cartoon, reading the comics, or even if you just have a soft spot for sewer-dwelling reptiles with a knack for kicking ninja butt, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin” is the game you won’t want to miss. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates, sharpen those katana blades, and prepare to embark on an epic adventure that’s truly shell-tastic.
