Leak: Megaseeker — new LoL game from Riot Forge

The South Korean game classification committee has leaked a new League of Legends game from Riot Forge. According to this leak, the game, which has not yet been announced, is called Mageseeker: A Legend of Legends Story.

Reports indicate that the game’s story follows Sylas, the protagonist champion, as he fights to save Demacia from a demonic threat.

Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story is a new game published by Riot Forge. Recall that this publisher is the one Riot Games uses for games created by developers outside the organization.

As a reference, we can highlight the last two games published by Riot Forge, Ruined King, and Hextech Mayhem. This pair of games explore the League of Legends universe in different genres.

Just as Ruined King focuses its story on Viego and other League of Legends champions, Mageseeker will focus on Sylas, the Unchained, a mage fighting for the revolution of Demacia, his home. This champion is undoubtedly one of the grayer, morally speaking, of LoL’s extensive roster of champions.

Story

In this new game, Sylas opposes Demacia, who is murdering his people, recruiting child soldiers, and trying to establish a monarchy in his city.

Sylas does everything for a reason. Demacia is an oppressive city that uses agents called Mageseekers to find and imprison mages. On top of this, he turns them into agents of the monarchy.

When Sylas was very young, the Mageseekers used his powers to help them quell magic in their city before imprisoning him for using his abilities against the agents. Sylas has escaped prison and is attempting to overthrow the monarchy with a group of outcast magicians who support his movements.

A lot of material on Sylas

There is no doubt that this champion has the material to make an entire campaign. So placing him in the foreground makes a lot of sense. The leak doesn’t give many details to speak of, but it states that Mageseeker will be an action game and focus on Demacia. In addition, there is a possibility that more LoL champions will appear.

The game is already under review by the Games Classification and Administration Committee, so we will most likely hear about its official release soon.

Now, if this new game comes out by the end of the year, League of Legends fans will have three new games in 2023. Riot Forge also plans to release an action platformer called Convergence, starring Ekko. In addition, they will also release an adventure game called Song of Nunu.

Besides these games, there are others that Riot Games is working on, such as Project L (fighting game), Project F (action-RPG game), and an unnamed MMORPG, all from LoL.
