The second week of the LCS Spring Split 2023 playoffs is now history, and we have Cloud9 reaffirming their status as favorites by defeating FlyQuest in the Upper Bracket final to secure their ticket to the Grand Final.

Cloud9 had an incredible run from the start of the second half of Split, where they managed to come from behind to win seven of their last eight games played and, finally, snatch the top spot in the table from FlyQuest. Undoubtedly, we all thought FlyQuest would be the absolute owner of the first place due to their performance throughout the Split. But they didn’t count on a spectacular awakening from the Cloud9 guys.

On the other hand, Golden Guardians secured a 3-0 victory over Evil Geniuses in the Lower Bracket semifinals. Thanks to this, they will now play FlyQuest for a place in the final.

Cloud9 seals their ticket to the grand finals

After a crushing victory against FlyQuest in the Upper Bracket final, Cloud9 seals its ticket to the LCS Grand Final, which will be played in Raleigh, North Carolina, on April 10, 2023. The opponent will be determined the day before when FlyQuest will face Golden Guardians.

But it’s not just the fact that they qualified for the grand final that makes this feat great for C9, as they have set a mind-blowing record in the LCS.

Cloud9 maintains their streak of qualifying to every LCS finals since their inception in 2013, meaning they have attended every finals in the league’s history. In addition to this, the team has managed to win the championship trophy five times. But that’s not all; with the victory over FlyQuest, C9 became the first team to qualify for MSI 2023.

Remember that the MSI will start next May 2, 2023, and will be played in London, England. The second representative from the NA region will arrive when Golden Guardians and FlyQuest meet in the Lower Bracket final of the LCS Spring Split 2023.

Cloud9 is the most consistent team in NA

We can argue that Cloud9 may be the most popular organization in the LCS, but it may be debatable, thanks to their great rivals. What can’t be argued, however, is that C9 is the most consistent team in the region.

During the ten years that the LCS has existed, Cloud9 has always been competing in the grand final match. In addition, the team also managed to be in the LCS finals when TSM and Team Liquid exerted absolute dominance in the league. Therefore, there is no doubt that nothing has been an obstacle for this team to always be in the papers.

Moreover, it’s not just that they build a strong squad every season but that the coaching staff manages to get the best out of every player. Some may not be very bright regarding names, but upon arriving in the organization, they are transformed, and there is no doubt that the level of play increases.

Some of these examples are Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen, Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer, and Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen, all of whom were highly criticized moves by part of the community. Still, they proved that all those who did not believe in them were completely wrong.

Now, for the tenth consecutive time in their history, Cloud9 will fight for their sixth LCS title, and they have a great chance to win it.
