Following Team Vitality’s extraordinary victory at Gamers8 2023, the team climbed to the top of the CS:GO world rankings.

As a result, this marks Vitality’s return to the top of the HLTV rankings, as they had fallen from the top after failing to win any of the last Tier 1 tournaments they had participated in. In addition, Vitality was for almost two months off the top, as the June 2023 update was where the last drop occurred.

Team Vitality won their third LAN championship this season, but it is worth mentioning that it is their first since they signed Shahar “flameZ” Shushan in place of Danish legend Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen.

Team Vitality returns to the TOP 1 of the HLTV World Rankings

After Team Vitality’s victory over ENCE in the Gamers8 2023 Grand Final, in addition to winning a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool, the French squad climbed back to the top of the HLTV world ranking. All this resulted from the team scoring enough points to displace Heroic, who had been at the top of the Ranking for the last few months.

Team Vitality started their return to the top of the Ranking after the victory in the IEM Rio 2023, as that was their first championship trophy since they did it in the EPL S16. However, this victory helped them achieve only the #2 spot in the world ranking, according to HLTV. After three weeks, Heroic started to lose points, allowing Vitality to climb to the top of the rankings. In addition, the Europeans managed to secure their place in the TOP 1 after their victory at the Paris Major 2023.

However, the team could not stay in the TOP 1 ranking, as they decided to replace the Danish legend, dupreeh, with flameZ, which caused them to lose 20% of the total points in the Ranking. As a result, Team Vitality fell to second place, remaining for two months until the victory in Gamers8 2023.

ENCE climbs to the TOP 3 in the Ranking

There is no doubt that ENCE is one of the most consistent teams in the CS:GO competitive scene today. As a result, this European squad climbed to the TOP 3 of the CS:GO world ranking, according to HLTV.

ENCE has managed to play four finals in a row:

  • IEM Dallas
  • ESL Challengers Katowice
  • IEM Cologne
  • Gamers8 2023

Although G2 Esports won the IEM Cologne 2023, ENCE managed to displace them from third place in the Ranking thanks to this impressive streak of consecutive grand finals.

Finally, GamerLegion remained in the TOP 10 of the Ranking, while 1WIN entered the TOP 30 after winning the CCT CEU Series 7.
